A polyethylene composition having increased environmental stress crack resistance comprises a polymer blend of a multimodal high density polyethylene (HDPE) and an additive of at least one of a polycarbonate-siloxane copolymer, a polyethylene glycol (PEG) having an average molecular weight (Mw) of at least 2000, and a random block copolymer comprising two different saturated alkane blocks between two aromatic hydrocarbon blocks. The additive is present in the polymer blend in an amount of from 1 wt. % or less by weight of the polymer blend.

The invention relates to a metallocene complex according to formula I or II wherein M is a metal selected from lanthanides or transition metals from group 3, 4, 5 or 6 of the Periodic System of the Elements, Q is an anionic ligand to M, k is the number of Q groups and equals the valence of M minus 2, R is a divalent bridging group, R, R, Rand R4 are each independently chosen from the group consisting of hydrogen (H); a halogen atom; a silyl, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl group; and R, R, Rand Rare each independently chosen from the group consisting of hydrogen (H); a halogen atom; a silyl, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkylaryl or arylalkyl group; or two adjacent radicals Rand R, Rand R, and Rand Rare connected with each other in a hydrocarbon ring system. The invention also relates to a catalyst comprising the metallocene complex, to a process for making polyolefins and to the use of the polyolefins for making articles.

The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a graft copolymer comprising a polyolefin main chain and one or multiple polymer side chains, the process comprising the steps of: copolymerizing at least one first type of olefin monomer and at least one second type of metal-pacified functionalized olefin monomer to obtain a polyolefin main chain having one or multiple metal-pacified functionalized short chain branches, and reacting the polyolefin main chain having one or multiple metal-pacified functionalized short chain branches with at least one metal substituting agent to obtain a polyolefin main chain having one or multiple functionalized short chain branches; and forming one or multiple polymer side chains on the polyolefin main chain, wherein as initiators the functionalized short chain branches on the polyolefin main chain are used to obtain the graft copolymer. The invention also relates to the products obtained therefrom.
