In at least one example, a medical device is provided. The medical device includes at least one therapy electrode, at least one electrocardiogram (ECG) electrode, at least one acoustic sensor, and at least one processor coupled with the at least one acoustic sensor, the at least one ECG electrode, and the at least one therapy electrode. The at least one processor can receive at least one acoustic signal from the at least one acoustic sensor, receive at least one electrode signal from the ECG electrode, detect at least one unverified cardiopulmonary anomaly using the at least one electrode signal, and verify the at least one unverified cardiopulmonary anomaly with reference to data descriptive of the at least one acoustic signal.

According to at least one aspect, a wearable cardiac device is provided. The wearable cardiac device includes a garment worn about a torso of a patient, at least one sensing electrode to monitor cardiac activity of the patient, and a controller including a plurality of separate and distinct modules distributed about and/or integrated into the garment. The plurality of separate and distinct modules includes, for example, an operations module coupled to the at least one sensing electrode and configured to detect at least one cardiac condition of the patient and/or a communications module coupled to the operations module to communicate with an external device. In some examples, the wearable cardiac device may be configured as a treatment device and include an energy storage module coupled to at least one therapy electrode and configured to store energy for at least one therapeutic shock to be applied to the patient.

Garments for wearable medical devices

A system and method for conservation of battery power in a portable medical device is provided. In one example, a processor arrangement includes a dual core processor having an ARM core and a DSP core. The portable medical device includes a monitor having the dual core processor, in communication with a belt node processor. The DSP core receives physiological data from the physiological sensor and sends the physiological data to the ARM core. The ARM core analyzes the physiological data to determine if a treatment sequence is necessary. The DSP core receives physiological data from the at least one physiological sensor and sends the physiological data to the ARM core, and also analyzes the physiological data to determine proper timing of the treatment sequence by the at least one therapy delivery device to synchronize at least one pulse of the treatment sequence with the physiological data.

System and method for conserving power in a medical device

An ambulatory medical device is provided. The ambulatory medical device includes at least one sensor configured to acquire sensor data descriptive of patient motion and at least one processor coupled to the at least one sensor. The at least one processor is configured to detect the patient motion from the sensor data, and to classify the patient motion.

Systems and methods of tracking patient movement

A wearable medical device configured to monitor a patient for cardiac arrhythmias includes a water-resistant belt, ECG sensing electrodes, and therapy electrodes discrete from the ECG sensing electrodes. At least some of the ECG sensing electrodes and therapy electrodes are disposed on one or more common adhesive backings configured to be adhesively attached to the patient's torso. The wearable medical device also includes an elongated cable, including a removable connector, and a control unit configured to be removably electrically coupled to the electrodes via the removable connector. The control unit is configured to monitor a sensed ECG of the patient, and responsive to a detection of cardiac arrhythmia, provide at least one defibrillating pulse to at least one of the therapy electrodes. The control unit is housed in a waterproof case formed from a waterproof material that is sealed to prevent ingress of water during operation in a wet environment.

An ambulatory medical device comprises: a sensing component to be disposed on a patient for detecting a physiological signal of the patient; and monitoring and self-test circuitry configured for detecting a triggering event and initiating one or more self-tests based on detection of the triggering event. Systems and methods for testing a medical device

An electrode assembly that includes an electrically conductive layer, a first impedance reduction system, and a second impedance reduction system. The electrically conductive layer forms an electrode portion of the electrode assembly and a first surface to be placed adjacent a person's skin. The first impedance reduction system is configured to dispense a first amount of an electrically conductive gel onto the first surface of the electrically conductive layer in response to a first activation signal. The second impedance reduction system is configured to dispense a second amount of the electrically conductive gel onto the first surface of the electrically conductive layer in response to a second activation signal.

The remote alarm is configured to receive alarms, voice messages and prompts issued by the wearable medical device and to repeat those alarms, voice messages and prompts in a manner that can more easily be perceived by a patient wearing the wearable medical device or a bystander. The remote alarm can be configured to receive a communication from the wearable medical device, and in response, to identify one or more messages to be provided to the patient or a bystander. The messages may be provided audibly, visually, tactilely or combinations thereof. The remote alarm may further be configured to take certain actions depending upon the content of the communication, such as sending a telephone message to alert emergency personnel to the identity, location and medical condition of the patient, or sending an email.

The external medical device includes a memory and circuitry, in communication with the memory, to receive input specifying at least in part at least one prompt relating to a health survey for a patient, the at least one prompt being customized based on the patient; convert the at least one prompt to an audio representation; and perform the health survey by at least delivering to the patient the audio representation.

Medical device with natural language processor

A wearable therapeutic device to facilitate care of a subject is provided. The wearable therapeutic device can include a garment having a sensing electrode. The garment includes at least one of an inductive element and a capacitive element, and a controller identifies an inductance of the inductive element or a capacitance of the capacitive element, and determines a confidence level of information received from the sensing electrode based on the inductance or the capacitance. The wearable therapeutic device also includes an alarm module coupled with the controller and configured to provide a notification to a subject based on the confidence level.

The wearable defibrillator includes one or more physiological sensors including one or more ECG electrodes, one or more defibrillator electrodes, and a wearable medical device controller including a memory and at least processor coupled to the memory. System and method for adapting alarms in a wearable medical device

An ambulatory medical device including a plurality of sensing electrodes and one or more processors operably coupled to the plurality of sensing electrodes is provided. Each sensing electrodes is configured to be coupled eternally to a patient and to detect one or more ECG signals. The one or more processors are configured to receive at least one electrode-specific digital signal for each of the plurality of sensing electrodes, determine a noise component for each of the electrode-specific digital signals, analyze each of the noise components for each of the plurality of sensing electrodes, generate electrode matching information for each sensing electrode of the plurality of sensing electrodes based upon analysis of each of the noise components, determine one or more sensing electrode pairs based upon the electrode matching information, and monitor each of the one or more sensing electrode pairs for ECG activity of the patient.

In some examples, an ambulatory medical device is provided. The ambulatory medical device includes at least one sensor configured to acquire data descriptive of the patient, one or more processors in communication with the at least one sensor, a patient care component executable by the one or more processors, and a limited functionality component executable by the one or more processors. The patient care component is configured to perform one or more primary operations of the ambulatory medical device at least in part by accessing the data descriptive of the patient. The limited functionality component is configured to exchange information with a communication device and to not affect the one or more primary operations of the ambulatory medical device.

An ambulatory medical device is provided. The ambulatory medical device includes at least one sensor configured to acquire data descriptive of a patient, a memory, a user interface, and at least one processor coupled with the memory, the at least one sensor, and the user interface.
