Female fiber optic connectors having a connection port opening for receiving a fiber optic plug and cable assemblies comprising the female fiber optic connector along with methods of making the same. The female fiber optic connectors comprise an actuator such as a rocker latch arm used for releasing or securing an external fiber optic plug that may be received in the connection port. A main barrel of the female fiber optic connector comprises a connection port suitable for receiving an external fiber optic plug connector. The female fiber optic connectors disclosed advantageously allow for an quick and easy connection with an external fiber optic plug connector for ruggedized or other desired applications. Methods for terminating the optical fibers of a cable to the female fiber optic connector for forming cable assemblies are also disclosed.

Extender ports comprising one or more connection ports with associated securing features and methods for making the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, the device comprises a shell, a first and second connection port, at least one securing feature passageway, and at least one securing feature. The first and second connection ports are disposed on the extender port and aligned for making an optical connection between external fiber optic connectors inserted into respective connection ports. The securing features are associated with the connection port passageway, and are suitable for retaining and releasing the external fiber optic connectors.

A ventilator, including an enclosure; a tubing configured to receive an input gas; a flow outlet airline in fluid communication with the tubing, wherein the flow outlet airline includes an airline outlet, and the flow outlet airline is configured to supply an output gas to a user via the airline outlet; a breath detection airline including an airline inlet, wherein the airline inlet is separated from the airline outlet of the flow outlet airline, and the breath detection airline is configured to receive breathing gas from the user during exhalation by the user via the airline inlet; a pressure sensor in direct fluid communication with the breath detection airline, wherein the pressure sensor is configured to measure breathing pressure from the user, and the pressure sensor is configured to generate sensor data indicative of breathing by the user.

A ventilator includes a bidirectional breath detection airline and a flow outlet airline. The flow outlet airline includes an airline outlet. The flow outlet airline is configured to be connected to an invasive ventilator circuit or a noninvasive ventilator circuit. The breath detection airline includes airline inlet. The airline inlet is separated from the airline outlet of the flow outlet airline. The ventilator further includes a pressure sensor in direct fluid communication with the breath detection airline. The pressure sensor is configured to measure breathing pressure from the user and generate sensor data indicative of breathing by the user. The ventilator further includes a controller in electronic communication with the pressure sensor. The controller is programmed to detect the breathing by the user based on the sensor data received from the pressure sensor.

Mechanical ventilator with non-invasive option

A check valve can include a pressure actuator or an electromagnetic actuator. The check valve includes a valve inlet, a valve outlet, and flap disposed between the valve inlet and the valve outlet. The pressure actuator in fluid communication with the valve inlet. The check valve has an open state and a closed state. The check valve is configured to allow an input gas to flow from the valve inlet to the valve outlet when the check valve is in the open state. The check valve is configured to preclude the input gas from flowing from the valve inlet to the valve outlet when the check valve is in the closed state. Upon actuation of the pressure actuator or the electromagnetic actuator, the flap moves away from the valve inlet to allow the inlet gas to move from the valve inlet to the valve outlet.

In one embodiment, the port module insert comprises a housing, at least one connection port, at least one securing feature passageway, and at least one securing feature. The at least one connection port is disposed on the port module insert with the at least one connection port comprising an optical connector opening extending from an outer surface of the port module insert to a cavity of the port module insert and defining a connection port passageway. The at least one securing feature is associated with the connection port passageway, and the at least one securing feature is disposed within a portion of the at least one securing feature passageway.

A ventilator includes an enclosure, a tubing configured to receive an input gas, and a flow outlet airline in fluid communication with the tubing. The flow outlet airline includes an airline outlet. The ventilator further includes a breath detection airline including an airline inlet. The airline inlet is separated from the airline outlet of the flow outline airline. The ventilator further includes a pressure sensor in direct fluid communication with the breath detection airline. The ventilator includes a controller in electronic communication with the pressure sensor and an internal oxygen concentrator in fluid communication with the tubing. The internal oxygen concentrator is entirely disposed inside the enclosure.

A breathing apparatus includes a flow outlet airline in fluid communication with the tubing and breath detection software. The flow outlet airline includes an airline outlet, and the flow outlet airline is configured to supply an output gas to a user via the airline outlet. The breathing apparatus further includes a breath detection airline including an airline inlet. The breath detection airline is configured to receive breathing gas from the user during exhalation by the user via the airline inlet. The breathing apparatus further includes a pressure sensor in direct fluid communication with the breath detection airline. The pressure sensor is configured to measure breathing pressure from the user and to generate sensor pressure data indicative of breathing by the user. The controller is programmed to predict the breathing by the user based on the sensor breathing data received from the pressure sensor.

Extender port for making optical connections

Fiber optic connectors and connectorized fiber optic cables include connector housings having locking portions defined on the connector housing that allow the connector housing to be selectively coupled to a corresponding push-button securing member of a multiport assembly. Methods for selectively connecting a fiber optic connector to, and disconnecting the fiber optic connector from the multiport assemblies allow for connector housings to be forcibly and nondestructively removed from the multiport assembly.
