An example device includes: an enclosure; a plurality of drawer units supported in the enclosure, each drawer unit movable between an accessible position and a secure position and comprising: at least one divider configured to divide an interior of the drawer unit into a plurality of compartments; a selectively securable compartment door for each of the compartments; detection elements configured to monitor the connection points; and a control system configured to: determine, for each drawer unit, a compartment configuration; and in response to an access request: identify a designated drawer unit and a designated compartment based on the determined compartment configuration for the designated drawer unit; and release the compartment door for the designated compartment to allow access to the designated compartment.

Asset management device with automatic configuration detection

There is provided a device for automatic asset management as well as a method for dispensing items from said automatic asset management device. The device comprises an enclosure, a shelving unit within the enclosure configured to store at least one item, a delivery hatch on the enclosure configured to allow access to the enclosure, and a dispensing unit within the enclosure. The dispensing unit comprises a front gate comprising an open portion and a closed portion, wherein the front gate is configured to control access through the delivery hatch and an elevator module configured to receive the item from the shelving unit, move to the front gate to link with the front gate, while linked with the front gate, move with the front gate to align the open portion with the delivery hatch to allow access to the item within the elevator module; and upon removal of the item from the elevator module, release the front gate to align the closed portion with the delivery hatch to restrict access to the delivery hatch.

An example bulk material dispensing apparatus includes: a frame; a hopper supported in the frame, the hopper configured to contain a bulk material for dispensing by the dispensing apparatus and having a hopper outlet; a feeding unit interconnected with the hopper outlet, the feeding unit configured to receive the bulk material from the hopper outlet and comprising: a feeding tube; and an auger disposed in the feeding tube, the auger configured to rotate to drive the bulk material received from the hopper outlet to be dispensed from a dispensing outlet; and a controller interconnected with the auger, the controller configured to: receive a dispensing request specifying a quantity of bulk material to dispense; and control the auger to rotate to dispense the quantity of bulk material.

A smart locker system includes an enclosure unit and a cassette unit. The smart locker is extendable by adding additional enclosure units and the cassette units. The cassette unit includes storage bins and a control bin. The cassette unit contains different size of storage bins and a control bin. The smart locker system further includes a touch screen and authentication devices. The smart locker system can arrange the storage bins and the control bins to maintain the height of the smart locker system.

A shelving system includes a dispensing module including a shutter and a track. The shutter is movable on the track. The shutter is associated with a motor, a connecting mechanism to control connection of the shutter and the motor, and a controller to control location of the shutter using the motor. The system further includes a control module including a user interface device and a control device to communicate with the dispensing module for dispensing an item.

Shelving system using shutters

An automated vending machine for vending, accepting returns for, and restocking, vendible products. Vendible products are stored on moveable trays, resting on a shelving system, and are transported within the automated vending machine by a gantry system and dispensing unit. The shelving system and moveable trays can be adjusted to accommodate vendible products of varying shape, size, weight, and durability. The moveable trays are gravity fed forward into position for being coupled with the dispensing unit when selected. A supplementary storage area for restocking products and storing returned products is included.

An automated kiosk includes a storage structure housed by an enclosure, with the storage structure holding trays with items, grabbing unit for picking up trays, dispensing unit for delivering an item, a conveyer mechanism to position the grabbing unit and the dispensing unit and control system. The tray holding an item is associated with the grabbing unit and the dispensing unit and delivers an item to a customer. The tray holding an item can be returned, stocked and restocked by the automated kiosk.
