A surgical tool for shearing tissue at a target surgical site, the surgical tool comprising a cannula assembly with a distal end and a proximal end, a cannula opening into the lumen of the cannula at the distal end, a cutting device coupled to the distal end and within the cannula opening, and an axial ball joint coupled to the proximal end of the cannula assembly, that when rotated, causes the cutting device at the distal end to rotate about a longitudinal axis passing axially through the lumen of the cannula assembly, so as to shear a portion of tissue at a target surgical site.

Method and apparatus for shearing tissue at a target surgical site

An expander for widening and holding apart an opening of a tissue. The expander may include a body configured to deform from a compacted state into a pre-determined shape in an expanded state in response to a pre-determined physiological condition the body is exposed to. The body with the pre-determined shape in the expanded state may be configured to hold apart the opening of the tissue.

Device for single handled injection of an intraocular lens

A method is proposed for analyzing an optical coherence tomography (OCT) image of the anterior segment (AS) of a subject's eye. A region of interest is defined which is a region of the image containing the junction of the cornea and iris, and an estimated position the junction within the region of interest is derived. Using this a second region of the image is obtained, which is a part of the image containing the estimated position of the junction. Features of the second region are obtained, and those features are input to an adaptive model to generate data characterizing the junction.
