A toggle switch comprises a housing, a plurality of switches disposed within the housing, an actuating lever coupled to a pivot pin, and an actuator assembly coupled to the actuating lever. The actuating lever extends into the housing. The actuator assembly comprises an actuation pin coupled to the actuating lever, and a spring disposed about the actuating lever. The actuation pin is configured to actuate one or more of the plurality of switches, and the spring is configured to bias a cam follower into engagement with a cam profile on a bracket and bias the actuating lever into an actuation position.

Toggle switch actuating mechanism

A non-contact shift lever position detector includes a housing, a gear position shift lever, a magnet, a plurality of magnetic sensors, and a processor. The gear position shift lever is disposed partially within the housing and is moveable to at least a first position, a second position, and a third position. The magnet is disposed within the housing, and is coupled to the gear position shift lever and is movable therewith. The magnetic sensors are fixedly disposed within the housing and each magnetic sensor is spaced apart from the magnet and is configured to supply an output voltage representative of its proximity to the magnet. The processor is coupled to receive the output voltage supplied from each of the magnetic sensors and is configured, upon receipt thereof, to determine when the gear position shift lever is in the first position, the second position, and the third position.

Non-contact shift lever position detector and health status monitoring system

A throttle control assembly includes a cable lever, a switch assembly, a throttle control device, and a switch engagement surface. The cable lever is adapted for coupling to a throttle cable and is configured, upon receipt of a drive torque, to rotate. The switch assembly is coupled to the cable lever and includes a switch that is movable between a first position and a second position. The throttle control device has the switch engagement surface formed on a portion of its inner surface. The switch engagement surface is configured, upon rotation of the throttle control device, to selectively move the switch between the first position and the second position and selectively rotate the switch assembly to thereby supply the drive torque to the cable lever.

Throttle control assembly with integrated safety switch

A drive-by-wire throttle control apparatus and method includes a variable resistance sensor. A contact arm can be mechanically connected between a thumb lever and a variable resistance sensor. The variable resistance sensor possesses a resistive film that includes a fixed resistor and a variable resistor configured from a carbon film. As the thumb lever rotates, the contact arm traverses the resistive film, thereby altering the resistance of the variable resistor, determining the position of the thumb lever and thereafter generating a signal based on the sensed position. The signal can be sent to an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) in the form of a varying voltage, which in turn controls the throttle of a vehicle.
