A method employs a first polymeric material to deposit first and second pattern layers laterally shifted from each other such that laterally shifted pattern layers form between them an empty volume with a variable cross-section that varies along with the first and second pattern layers. A second polymeric material is cast in the empty volume between the first and second pattern layers to cast a complex-shaped 3D object identical in shape to the empty volume between the first and second pattern layers. Radiation is applied to cure the first and second polymeric materials. The first polymeric material is a water breakable material composition including acrylamide, methacrylamide, acrylate, acrylic acids, and acrylic acid salts, hydroxy(meth)acrylate, carboxy(meth)acrylate, acrylonitrile, carbohydrate monomers, methacrylate and polyfunctional acrylics.

Complex shaped 3D objects fabrication

Described is a method of manufacture of 3D objects from composite materials. The method includes the use of an extrusion nozzle configured to extrude the composite material, including a multistrand filament with a thixotropic acrylic matrix material surrounding the multistrand filament. Extruding a 3D object surface segment spanning in the air over at least a segment of a discontinuous work surface and operating concurrently a source of curing energy to pin and enhance the strength of a 3D object surface segment spanning in air. The 3D object extruded surface segment spanning in the air is sufficiently rigid and maintains its shape without the use of a mandrel.

Automated manufacture of 3D objects from composite material

An apparatus for manufacturing of 3D objects is provided. The apparatus includes a number of material deposition heads terminated by nozzles, of which one or two nozzles are configured to deposit a first material to form a first and second pattern layers. The pattern layers are laterally shifted from each other such that when the first and second pattern layers are deposited, a space (empty volume) with a varying cross section is formed. In some examples, two or more nozzles could be used to deposit the corresponding first and second pattern layers. The nozzles could move independent of each other.

Disclosed is a biodegradable sheet comprising at least one layer which is a direct contact layer, intended to successfully contact materials, such as liquids, while maintaining the mechanical properties of the sheet and to extend the biodegradable sheet shelf life. The direct contact layer may comprise a hydrophobic polymer selected from poly(epsilon-caprolactone) (PCL) polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), Polydioxanone (PDO) polyglycolic acid (PGA), polybutylene succinate (PBS), polybutylene succinate adipate (PBSA), poly lactic acid (PLA), polybutylene adipate terphtalate (PBAT), polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), such as polyhydroxybutyrates (PHB), polyhydroxyvalerates (PHV), and polyhydroxybutyrate-hydroxyvalerate copolymers (PHBV) or any mixture thereof. The biodegradable sheet may further comprise surface treated nanoclay particles, PVOH grafted with a crosslinker and PBS or PBSA The first hydrophobic polymer is present in said at least one layer in an amount of about 30% w/w.

Biodegradable sheet

The direct contact layer may comprise a hydrophobic polymer selected from poly(epsilon-caprolactone) (PCL) polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), Polydioxanone (PDO) polyglycolic acid (PGA), polybutylene succinate (PBS), polybutylene succinate adipate (PBSA), poly lactic acid (PLA), polybutylene adipate terphtalate (PBAT), polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), such as polyhydroxybutyrates (PHB), polyhydroxyvalerates (PHV), and polyhydroxybutyrate-hydroxyvalerate copolymers (PHBV) or any mixture thereof. The biodegradable sheet may further comprise surface treated nanoclay particles, PVOH grafted with a crosslinker and PBS or PBSA The biodegradable sheet may further include at least one metalized, biodegradable, laminate layer.

Disclosed is a biodegradable sheet prepared from biodegradable material, a process for preparing the biodegradable sheet and uses thereof. One of the disclosed uses of the biodegradable sheet is in the preparation of a flexible liquid receptacle. Disclosed also is a flexible liquid receptacle arranged as an array of several receptacle units that are attached to one another and that may be detached from one another by tearing along a perforated line created between each two receptacle units. The disclosed array may also include a hanger, thus allowing the array to be hung from any appropriate means. Further disclosed is a biodegradable sheet including at least one layer comprising about 15-25% w/w PLA and about 75-85% w/w PBSA.

Disclosed is a biodegradable sheet comprising at least one layer which comprises a biodegradable polymer and surface treated nanoclay particles or at least one layer which comprises PVOH grafted with a crosslinker and PBS or PBSA or a combination a biodegradable polymer and surface treated nanoclay particles and at least one layer which comprises PVOH grafted with a crosslinker and PBS or PBSA.
