A wireless station (STA) in a wireless local area network (WLAN) performs a method to avoid media access control (MAC) padding of a physical layer convergence protocol data unit (PPDU) (e.g., a trigger-based (TB) PPDU, etc.). The method can reduce current or power consumption by the STA, which can in turn optimize the STA and, in certain instances, the WLAN as whole. In one example, the method includes the STA receiving a trigger frame from an access point (AP). The trigger frame specifies a length of a PPDU. The method further includes the STA generating a TB PPDU based on the specifications in the trigger frame. In particular, the STA generates a PPDU that has a length that is less than the length specified by the trigger frame. The method also includes the STA transmitting the generated PPDU to the AP.

Avoiding media access control padding of trigger-based physical layer convergence protocol data unit

A zero-IF transceiver includes a Rx having an IQ receiver path with a digital portion including a modem and a down-converter, and a Tx having an IQ transmit path with a digital portion including a modem for generating a complex and substantially balanced time-domain signal, an IQMM correction block, and an up-converter. An IQMM estimation block is coupled between time-domain parts of the Rx and the Tx modems. The IQMM estimation block is coupled to an input of the IQMM correction block. A loopback path couples the time-domain signal from the Tx to the Rx. The IQMM estimation block receives a first time-domain signal from the Rx modem and the time-domain signal before the IQMM correction block, and estimates in a digital time-domain an IMage Rejection Ratio (IMRR) of the Tx(&#x3d1;). The IQMM correction block is for correcting the IQMM to provide an IQ corrected OFDM signal using the &#x3d1;.

Transmitter time-domain estimation and compensation of IQ imbalance

An integrated circuit. The integrated circuit comprises an analog transmit chain, an analog receive chain, a processor coupled to the analog transmit and receive chains, and a non-transitory storage coupled to the processor and storing executable code. When executed by the processor, the executable code causes the processor to cause a portion of a radio frequency (RF) signal to be transmitted by the analog transmit chain, to determine a first direct current (DC) voltage of a baseband signal provided by the analog receive chain, to cause a DC voltage offset to be input into the analog transmit chain, to determine a second DC voltage of another baseband signal provided by the analog receive chain, to determine a DC voltage offset compensation based on the first and second DC voltages and the DC voltage offset, and to cause the DC voltage offset compensation to be used to transmit signals.

Adaptation of zero intermediate frequency (ZIF) transmitter to correct local oscillator (LO) leakage

A method includes processing an input sequence of samples of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing signal (OFDM) to reduce a peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of the OFDM signal with given constraints of an error vector magnitude (EVM) parameter and a spectral mask parameter for the OFDM signal during a first processing iteration. The method includes performing at least one other iteration of the first processing iteration on a subsequent time domain sequence generated in the first processing iteration to reduce the PAPR of the OFDM signal below a system target PAPR threshold and below threshold limits for the EVM parameter and the spectral mask parameter.
