A video system for video surveillance or video monitoring includes a video source, a video control system, and a video management system. The video management system is configured to receive configuration data and generate maps based on the configuration data, wherein at least one of the maps is associated with the video source. The video management system displays the map associated with the video source and displays a graphical symbol on the map which indicates the location of the video source. The video management system then receives a selection of the video source, receives information associated with the selected video source, and displays the received information.

Systems and methods for managing and displaying video sources

A system and method for searching a video stream collected by a camera in a video surveillance system for an object's placement or displacement is disclosed. The searching includes an interactive question/answer approach that allows for a video snippet including the object's placement or displacement to be found quickly without the need for complicated video analytics. During the search, frames from algorithmically selected points in the video stream are presented to a user for review. The user reviews each frame and indicates if he/she sees the object. Based on the user's response the searching algorithmically reduces the portion video stream that is searched until a snippet of a video is found that includes the object's placement or displacement.

System and method for searching video

Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for matching trajectories across disjointed video views. In a particular embodiment, a method provides receiving a plurality of tagged trajectories that are tagged with an indicator of which trajectory pairs of the plurality of tagged trajectories are matching trajectory pairs and processing each of the trajectory pairs using each of a plurality of trajectory matching algorithms. The method further provides creating a model for matching trajectories based on the output of each of the plurality of trajectory matching algorithms for each of the pairs. The method further provides receiving a pair of trajectories and processing the pair of trajectories using each of the plurality of the trajectory matching algorithms. The method further provides processing the output of each of the plurality of the trajectory matching algorithms for the pair of trajectories using the model to determine whether the pair of trajectories is matching.

Trajectory matching across disjointed video views

Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for matching trajectories across disjointed video views. In a particular embodiment, a method provides identifying a first trajectory associated with an object in video captured of a first region. The method further provides identifying a plurality of alternative views of the object from the video of the first region. The method further provides generating additional views for inclusion in the plurality of alternative views by copying and horizontally flipping at least one view of the plurality of alternative views. The method further provides using the plurality of alternative views of the object, selecting a second trajectory that corresponds to the first trajectory from a plurality of trajectories associated with a plurality of objects in video captured of a second region.

A system and method for the capture and storage of data relating to the movements of objects, in a specified area and enables this data to be displayed in a graphically meaningful and useful manner. Video data is collected and video metadata is generated relating to objects (persons) appearing in the video data and their movements over time. The movements of the objects are then analyzed to detect the movements within a region of interest. This detection of movement allows a user, such as a manager of a store, to make informed decisions as to the infrastructure and operation of the store. One detection method relates to the number of people that are present in a region of interest for a specified time period. A second detection method relates to the number of people that remain or dwell in a particular area for a particular time period. A third detection method determines the flow of people and the direction they take within a region of interest. A fourth detection method relates to the number of people that enter a certain area by crossing a virtual line, a tripwire.
