Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for a smart energy home. The smart energy home may promote optimization of consumption of electricity by appliances and other consumer devices. Prioritization of where and when electricity may be provided to various appliances, chargers, or other devices which draw electrical power may be managed by the smart energy home. Information concerning prevailing weather conditions and contemporaneous electrical tariffs may be utilized in processes executed by the smart energy home. Smart energy hub

In one embodiment, an instruction is received at a blockchain server from a first digital rights management (DRM) client, the instruction including an instruction to transfer a DRM license to an encrypted content item to a second DRM client. A block to be recorded in a blockchain, is created, the block including a content item ID of said encrypted content item, one of a device ID of a device including the second DRM client or a user ID of a user of the second DRM client, DRM license information for said DRM license, and a DRM decryption key for decrypting said encrypted content item. The block is recorded in the blockchain. A confirmation message is sent to the second DRM client confirming that the block was written to the blockchain. Method and system for content and service sharing

In one embodiment a method, system and apparatus for adaptive bitrate (ABR) recording management is described, the method, system and apparatus comprising receiving a request to record a content item using adaptive bitrate (ABR) technology at an ABR request controller comprised in a client device, scheduling a download of the ABR content item by a recording planner, the scheduling based, at least in part, on a provided deadline by which the ABR content item is to have been completely downloaded, determining a recording plan by the recording planner in order to schedule acquisition of the ABR content item, the recording plan based, at least in part, on the provided deadline, availability of the ABR content item in ABR playlists, availability of system resources which may be used by concurrent playback and recording sessions at the client device, and bandwidth available to the client device, acquiring the ABR content item, and storing the acquired ABR content item on a storage device. Method and system for ABR recording

A method of digital television recording including receiving a content item at a first Personal Video Recorder (PVR), determining whether to transfer the content item based, at least in part, on at least one of the following: currentness of the content item, a user preference, and a user profile; and transferring the content item from the first PVR to a mobile PVR only upon a positive result of the determining.
