A liquid crystal display (LCD) device includes a display control circuit to receive data of each frame of an external image signal and a liquid crystal panel. When the data of an n+1 frame currently received is the same as that of an n frame previously received, the display control circuit outputs first gray scale voltages corresponding to the data of the n+1 frame to drive the liquid crystal panel. When the data of the n+1 frame is different from that of the n frame, the display control circuit generates data of at least one inserted frame between the data of the n and the n+1 frames, and outputs second gray scale voltages respectively corresponding to the data of the at least one inserted frame and the n+1 frame to drive the liquid crystal panel to display first an image of the least one inserted frame and then that of the n+1 frame. An absolute value of a second gray scale voltage exceeds that of a first gray scale voltage for a same gray scale.

Liquid crystal display device and driving method thereof

A liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal panel, a drive circuit, and a power circuit. The drive circuit includes a gate driver, a timing control circuit, and a wave signal generation circuit. The timing control circuit sends a timing control signal to the gate driver and the wave signal generation circuit. The wave signal generation circuit generates a control signal according to the timing control signal, and generates a wave signal according to the control signal. The gate driver generates scan signals according to the timing control signal and the wave signal. Before the voltage of the scan signal changes from a maximum voltage to a minimum voltage, the voltage of the scan signal decreases to an invariable middle voltage that is between the minimum voltage and the maximum voltage during a fall time of the scan signal.

A display device includes a display panel having an adjustable refresh frequency, a data driver for receiving display data, generating driving voltages based on the display data, and driving the display panel to display images using the driving voltages, and a timing controller providing a timing control signal to the data driver. The look-up table outputs a corresponding control signal according to the relationship stored therein to the timing controller. The timing controller processes the data signals using a frame rate algorithm under control of the corresponding control signal, thereby outputting the desired data signals to the data driving circuit.

The load () includes two backlight lamps () with first terminals (). The PWM IC with a protecting output () is connected to the load via the inverter circuit. The protecting circuit has a reference voltage. The first feedback circuit is capable of outputting a voltage to the protecting circuit corresponding to the voltage detected from the first terminals. The protecting circuit is configured to control the PWM IC to stop outputting a backlight adjusting signal to the inverter circuit such that the inverter circuit stops driving the load when the output voltage is higher than the reference voltage of the protecting circuit.

When the backlight control circuit works in an operation mode, the backlight control circuit defines a second current path including the lamp and the second current path forms a second resonant circuit.
