A switching gas damper for low-voltage power circuit breakers, is arranged as an attachment above the arcing chambers for additional damping, deionization and cooling of the switching gases. The switching gas damper includes a cuboid enclosure with separate inlet openings to receive switching gas flows from each arcing chamber in the low-voltage power circuit breaker. Separate outlet channels are formed by channel walls and/or by deflection elements and are routed on both sides of the power circuit breaker. A variable arrangement of the deflection elements and outlet channels makes it possible to produce a number of mutually separate flow paths, with different desired damping and cooling characteristics, as a function of the gas amounts that occur and of the characteristics of the arcing chambers that are used.

Switching gas damper for low-voltage power circuit breakers

A connector for conductor bars, which are in-line or extend at a right angle with regard to one another and which rotate 90&#xb0; around their longitudinal axes. The connector is comprised of a first contact piece and of a second contact piece of which the first contact piece is fastened in an eccentric manner, with regard to the longitudinal axis thereof, to the second contact piece at a position on the second contact piece that is also positioned in an eccentric manner with regard to the longitudinal axis. The first contact piece is connected to the second contact piece in such a manner that their longitudinal axes extend at a right angle with regard to one another but at a distance from one another so that the contact surfaces of the contact pieces do not intersect or overlap one another, but are adjacently arranged such that the pivot by 90&#xb0; towards one another.

A switching chamber enclosure includes a number of enclosure parts with specific functional subdivision, in which switching elements are arranged. The enclosure of the switching device is formed at least by one lower shell and one upper shell, which are separated from one another by a horizontal separating joint. In addition, one or more intermediate shells may provided, which are likewise separated from the lower shell, from the upper shell and from one another by horizontal separating joints.

Connecting bars for electrical appliances and devices, for different nominal currents, are configured in such a way that they are hollow. They may have only one or more than one cavity. The connecting bars have the same outer cross section for all current intensities, have different wall thicknesses, and consequently have differently sized cavities, for different current intensities. Consequently, the lead-through openings for the connecting bars in the respective switch housings of a type series can all be configured identically, corresponding to the dimensions for the connecting bars of the maximum current intensity.

A low-voltage circuit breaker includes an enclosure. The enclosure includes a front wall and a rear wall, and further includes specific functional subdivisions. The front wall and the rear wall are separated from one another by a separating joint, which runs vertically in the in-use position, between the enclosure front wall and the enclosure rear wall. An integrated cable duct is provided in the base of the enclose rear wall. The cable duct can be covered and extends underneath the contact support bearings and underneath the current transformer chambers which surround the lower connecting rails essentially over the entire width of the low-voltage circuit breaker. In the direction of the enclosure front wall, it has one or more through-opening for the connecting cables to pass through between the current transformers and the electronic tipping unit.

A switchgear, for low-voltage switching units with a linearly-displaceable contact support, includes a case-like housing with guide grooves, running in the direction of travel of the contact support, in the housing side walls thereof. Suitable projections on the side of the contact support, engage in the grooves, whereby the linear travel of the contact support is achieved. Pivoting contacts are arranged on the contact support as displaceable switch contacts.

A connector rail includes a full profile which is provided with first bearing surfaces and second bearing surfaces which are used to provide support in the window opening of the rear wall of the housing. The second bearing surfaces are provided with projections for securing continuous current conductors which are aligned in a parallel manner and which are, for instance in the case of low voltage circuit breakers, embodied as male contacts for fixed contacts. Respectively corresponding projections are provided in order to secure the flexible cables to the moveable switching contacts or to secure the fixed switching contacts.

Connecting bars are made from profiled semifinished products and have a cavity. The bars have the same outer dimensions for different nominal currents and are intended for connecting the electrical components of electrical devices and apparatus to an external electrical circuit. The connecting bars extend through the window opening located in the wall of the devices or apparatus and are fixed in the housing by a fixing device including two or more partial parts profiles. These are configured in such a way that they can be connected to one another by positive fit or otherwise to a hollow connecting bar. The partial parts have one or several legs, the length of which defines the height of the connecting bar.

In order to provide a bearing for an already prepositioned switching shaft, fitted with coupling levers, of a low-voltage circuit breaker in the region where the switching forces act, a bearing assembly is provided. The bearing assembly includes a bearing body which is mounted on the housing front wall of the switch pole, surrounding the switching shaft in the form of a half shell. The bearing body includes a subregion which projects between two coupling levers, which are at a distance from one another and are connected to a movable switching contact. It thus forms side guide surfaces for the coupling levers. Such a bearing assembly can be arranged in both the end regions of the switching shaft in multipole circuit breakers.

A current measuring device for a multi-pole voltage circuit breaker includes a support body with a through opening for a current conductor for each of the poles and a receiving chamber, surrounding the through opening for secondary components of current sensors and/or current transformers. The support body is essentially plate-like and rectangular and forms part of the rear wall of the circuit breaker. Should Rogowski coils be used as secondary components of a transformer, then adjustable voltage dividers are also mounted on the support body for interdependent adjustment. The multi-pole current measuring device simplifies the production of circuit breakers as approved components.

A switching contact arrangement for a low-voltage power circuit breaker includes a switching contact arrangement with a stationary contact group and a movable contact group which interacts with it. The contact groups include interacting main contacts, as well as interacting intermediate contacts and consumable contacts. Furthermore, both contact groups are equipped with an arcing horn for passing a switching arc to an arc quenching chamber. The consumable contacts are integrated in the arcing horns. Only the main contacts are in the form of contact facings, while the other contact points are formed by the busbars or arcing horns. The switching contact arrangement is of a single design and achieves a longer mechanical and electrical life. Furthermore, particularly short switching times are achieved.

A circuit breaker includes a switching contact arrangement and a drive apparatus which operates it, with the connection between the switching contact arrangement and the drive apparatus being designed such that it is detachable. For this purpose, a contact support of the switching contact arrangement contains a coupling bolt, which produces a hinged connection to a lever arrangement for the drive apparatus. A holding piece allows a actuating shaft of the drive apparatus to be rotated to a position, and to be fixed in this position. This allows the switching contact arrangement to be removed without any problem, and subsequently to be replaced by another switching contact arrangement. Once the control panel for the circuit breaker has been removed, the holding piece can be placed on the actuating shaft and can be attached to a front housing body of the circuit breaker where the control panel would otherwise be located.
