Systems, methods, computer-readable medium, and apparatus are disclosed that allow for control information to be provided in an efficient manner during short burst transmission. For example, an apparatus may be configured to receive downlink control information (DCI) that indicates an allocated resource from a base station. The apparatus may also receive data from the base station. The apparatus may generate a cyclically shifted sequence that corresponds to a sequence that is cyclically shifted based on at least one of an ACK or NACK for the received data and a SR. The apparatus may then transmit the cyclically shifted sequence in the allocated resource within one symbol period of a slot of a subframe to the base station. Thus, by transmitting the SR and the ACK/NACK in one symbol, control information for short burst transmissions can be provided in a more temporally efficient manner without adding excessive complexity to the UE.

Uplink ACK/NACK and SR in short durations

Certain aspects relate to techniques for estimating and compensating for antenna array rotation of a wireless node. For example, the antenna array of the wireless node may rotate about one or more of an x-axis, a y-axis, and a z-axis, which may misalign the antenna array relative to another antenna array of another wireless node, causing degradation of communications between the two nodes. In some examples, the wireless node may obtain, from a first antenna array of the other wireless node via a second antenna array of the first wireless node, a first pilot signal and a second pilot signal via a first beam. In some examples, the first wireless node may perform a first alignment compensation based on a phase difference between the first pilot signal and the second pilot signal.

Estimating and compensating antenna array misalignment

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitted may use a closed loop precoder for line-of-sight (LOS) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications that uses information such as distance feedback or LOS MIMO channel state feedback. A closed loop precoder may be associated with less overhead than a precoder based on full channel knowledge, such as an SVD precoder. A receiver may estimate a channel based on channel state information reference signals transmitted by the transmitter and calculate a spectral efficiency for one or more precoders of a set of precoders associated with the channel for a LOS MIMO mode. The receiver may send feedback to the transmitter that indicates a selected precoder of the set of LOS MIMO precoders based on the calculated spectral efficiencies. The transmitter may precode messages using the reported closed loop precoder.

Method and apparatus for codebook design for closed loop operation

Techniques are disclosed for determining an object's location by using a Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) to aid in RF sensing. Radar techniques can be used in which one or more base stations act as a transmitter and a receiving device acts as a receiver in a bistatic or multi-static radar configuration where an RIS directs signals transmitted by the one or more base stations to the receiving device. By comparing the time a line-of-sight (LOS) signal (redirected to the receiving device by the RIS) is received by the receiving device with that of an echo signal (redirected to the receiving device by the RIS) from a reflection of an RF signal from the object, a position of the object can be determined. Depending on desired functionality, this position can be determined by the receiving device or by a location server or other network entity.

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)-aided UE passive RF sensing

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for adaptive grouping for cooperative radar sensing. A method for wireless communications by a first network entity includes receiving, from a second network entity, first grouping information comprising an indication of a first plurality of network entities, the first grouping information associated with a first time-period; receiving, from the second network entity, second grouping information comprising an indication of a second plurality of network entities, the second grouping information associated with a second time-period; receiving a first radar signal during the first time-period; receiving a second radar signal during the second time-period; transmitting, to the second network entity, first sensing information based on the first radar signal; and transmitting, to the second network entity, second sensing information based on the second radar signal.

Adaptive grouping for cooperative radar sensing

Downlink and uplink Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) is performed using Reference Signal Time Difference (RSTD) measurements. The transmissions and measurements of positioning reference signals (PRS) are configured to mitigate or eliminate network synchronization errors which conventionally limit positioning accuracy of TDOA. The synchronization errors are mitigated using inter-base station PRS, and transmission of the PRS in response to receipt of the initial reference signal. For DL TDOA, a reference base station may transmit PRS to the user equipment (UE) and neighboring base station. In response, the neighboring base station transmits PRS to the UE. The RSTD may be determined as the difference in the time of reception of the PRS signals received at the UE after removal of the total delay for transmitting the PRS by the neighboring base station, including propagation time and processing time. The RSTD for UL TDOA may be determined in a similar manner.

Enhanced time difference of arrival based positioning for user equipment

Aspects described herein relate to configuring and selecting preamble and payload occasions for performing two-step random access procedures. Configurations on preamble occasions, payload occasions, association pattern between the occasions and synchronization signal block (SSB) beams, and the rules for selecting preamble and payload occasions for random access message transmission can be determined by the network and signaled to user equipment (UE). Based on the configurations and rules, UE can measure the link level quality and select possible preamble and payload occasions for one or more SSB beams achieving a threshold signal quality. Sets of one or more preamble occasions and one or more payload occasions can be further determined based on whether the preamble and payload occasion(s) can achieve a threshold transmission latency. The one or more preamble occasions and one or more payload occasions can be used to transmit random access messages in the two-step random access procedure.

Techniques for configuring random access occasions in wireless communications

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for scheduling and bandwidth part (BWP) adaptation for extended reality (XR). A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes obtaining an indication to change at least one of a minimum control-channel-to-data-channel delay or a bandwidth for receiving a first transmission on a BWP; changing the at least one of the minimum control-channel-to-data-channel delay to a new minimum control-channel-to-data-channel delay or the bandwidth on the BWP to a new bandwidth; and receiving the first transmission on the BWP using the at least one of the new minimum control-channel-to-data-channel delay or the new bandwidth of the BWP.

Scheduling and bandwidth part adaptation techniques for extended reality

Disclosed are techniques for wireless sensing. In an aspect, a network node detects a collision between at least one wireless communication signal scheduled to be transmitted by the network node and two or more bundled radar reference signals scheduled to be transmitted by the network node, wherein the at least one wireless communication signal is scheduled to be transmitted during a gap between a first radar reference signal and a second radar reference signal of the two or more bundled radar reference signals; performs a collision avoidance operation based on detection of the collision, and transmits the two or more bundled radar reference signals.

Handling collisions between bundled radar reference signals and communication signals in wireless communications systems

Wireless communications systems may support flexible waveform configuration for autonomous uplink transmissions. A base station may transmit broadcast signaling (e.g., a system information block (SIB)) indicating waveform configuration information for an autonomous uplink transmission by a user equipment (UE). In some cases, the broadcast signaling may include a waveform configuration field (WCF) that may indicate whether flexible waveforms for autonomous uplink are supported, may configure a waveform type, may indicate waveform configuration mapping rules, etc. As such, a UE may identify whether flexible waveform configuration for autonomous uplink is supported, and may determine waveform types for autonomous uplink transmissions based on waveform type configuration information from a base station (e.g., which may include an indication of whether flexible waveform configuration is supported, an indication of waveform type/scenario mapping rules, etc.), one or more LUTs, identified autonomous uplink scenarios, autonomous uplink transmission parameters, or some combination thereof.

Aspects described herein relate to receiving a configuration indicating multiple association rules associating random access preambles and payload formats, selecting, as part of a random access procedure, a random access preamble from the random access preambles for transmitting over a random access occasion, determining, based at least in part on at least one of the association rules in the configuration, a payload format associated with the random access preamble and a corresponding payload resource unit, and transmitting the random access preamble over the random access occasion and, according to the payload format, an associated payload over the corresponding payload resource unit. Multiplexing of payload resource units with same or different payload formats can be performed in time, frequency and code domains, based on the received configuration.

Techniques for selecting random access preambles and payload formats in wireless communications

A communications transceiver system that employs self-interference mitigation techniques can detect static objects by using techniques that introduce angular or Doppler diversity. This can include moving Tx and Rx antennas and/or performing beam sweeping. When processing RF sensing data from reflected RF signals, self-interference mitigation techniques can be used and compensation can be made for the movement and/or beam sweeping to allow for both self-interference mitigation and detection of static objects.

Static target detection for RF sensing in full-duplex communication systems

Radio frequency (RF) sensing of a target object by a wireless network is supported by a sensing node and a network node using sensing assistance data. The sensing assistance data may include information for Doppler estimation from received RF signals. The information for Doppler estimation, for example, may include an indication of phase coherency of RF signals, such as phase coherence found in positioning reference signal (PRS) resources, resource sets, transmission reception points (TRPs), frequency layer or any combination thereof. The sensing assistance data may include an association of PRS resources and reference point objects (RPOs) so RF signals reflected from the RPOs may be excluded from the sensing measurements. The sensing assistance data may include beam pattern information for PRS resources for beam coordination for RF sensing.

Wireless communication devices, systems, and methods related to power saving, including during connected mode operation and for extended reality (XR) data communications with or without discontinuous reception (DRX), are provided. For example, a method of wireless communication includes receiving, while in a connected mode, a configuration based on data traffic for the wireless communication device, the configuration indicating: a first zone associated with a first set of operating parameters for the wireless communication device; and a second zone associated with a second set of operating parameters for the wireless communication device, the second set of operating parameters being different than the first set of operating parameters; operating in the first zone with the first set of operating parameters to monitor for a first downlink communication signal; and operating in the second zone with the second set of operating parameters.

Aspects are provided to support payloads for msgA transmission in a two-step random access (RACH) procedure by providing a one-to-many mapping arrangement between preambles and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resource units (PRUs). A preamble is determined by the UE which is mapped to one or more groups of PRUs to support piggybacking of uplink control information (UCI), frequency hopping on PUSCH, and multiple-slot repetition for msgA transmissions. By piggybacking UCI to a payload in msgA, flexibility may be provided in the selection of MCS and waveform as well as resource allocation for demodulation reference signals (DMRS) and PUSCH in PRUs. Moreover, by allowing a payload to hop to different frequencies on PUSCH during the transmission of msgA, a gain in frequency diversity and interference averaging may be provided, and by enabling a payload to repeat across multiple slots in msgA transmission, coverage enhancement and/or reliability may be increased.
