For a sailboat, a constant force spring reel is used to balance the force in a control line used to establish the angle of the sail with respect to the boat. The spring exerts an essentially constant force on the control line whereby the sail is allowed to move to leeward or windward in response to wind changes to maintain an essentially constant sail force on, and angle of heel of, the boat.

Automatic traveller tender

A self steerer for use in sailing vessels is described. The device comprises a balance reel and associated control lines. The steerer balance reel is mounted on the tiller and uses both sail and rudder corrections simultaneously to keep the boat on a preselected course.

Sailing vessel self steerer

The present disclosure relates to a mooring cinch useful in locking a mooring pennant onto a mooring cleat. The mooring cinch is constructed of a strong flexible plastic shaped material which is adapted to accept two strands of rope consisting of opposing sides of the eye of a mooring pennant in a central cavity. Upon tightening of a centrally disposed nut and bolt, the mooring cinch can be secured to the cleat in any easy and non-slipping manner.

Halyards may be secured by capturing such halyards inside the turns of a plastic helix and then also concurrently capturing a shroud or other securing line within said helix.

Method for silencing halyards

A shelf support device is disclosed which can be wall hung, ceiling hung or free standing. The device is constructed from non-rigid support materials including shelf slings, hangers, sling locks, keepers, loops and sling lock-keepers. In preferred embodiments the device can be constructed in a 'Delta' or in a 'X Frame' configuration.
