The WTRU may transmit or monitor an ePDCCH using the aggregation level associated with the Nfor the subframe. A WTRU may also receive a reference signal. The WTRU may then determine the type of reference signal received. The WTRU may perform a demodulation of the PDSCH or ePDCCH using a demodulation timing based on the determined type. The ePDCCH or PDSCH may also be monitored or received by identifying a demodulation reference timing implicitly based on a location of one or more ePDCCH resources where the WTRU may receive DCI.

The timing advance compensation may be a differential or full timing advance compensation. An offset value, K, may be indicated to the UE. The Kvalue may be used for timing relationships.

Methods for timing advance indication and timing relationships indication for non-terrestrial networks

Methods, systems, and devices for addressing timing advance (TA) in non-terrestrial network communication is disclosed herein. A wireless transmit and receive unit (WTRU) may receive system information from a base station attached to an airborne or spaceborne vehicle that indicates a physical random access channel (PRACH) resource. The WTRU may determine a timing offset based on a plurality of information, such as the location information and the system information. The WTRU may transmit a preamble using the timing offset via the PRACH resource. The base station may receive the preamble and send a random access response (RAR) that includes, for example, a TA command. The WTRU may receive the RAR including the TA command and combine the timing offset with the TA command to determine an actual TA, after which the WTRU may use the actual TA for uplink transmissions.

Timing advance for non-terrestrial network communication

Systems, methods and instrumentalities are disclosed for decoding data. For example, it may be determined, in a current slot, whether data received in a previous slot is decoded successfully. The data received in the previous slot may be included in a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH). If the data received in the previous slot is not decoded successfully, preemptive multiplexing information may be detected in a first search space. The data received in the previous slot may be decoded, for example, using detected preemptive multiplexing information. The preemptive multiplexing information may be of a current slot. The preemptive multiplexing information may be comprised in a first DCI. A second search space of the current slot may be searched. For example, the second search space may be searched for a second DCI. The first DCI and the second DCI may be different.

Shared data channel design

Methods and apparatuses are described herein for providing a single-bit hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback and a multi-bit HARQ feedback in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). For example, a WTRU may receive, via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), downlink control information (DCI). The DCI may include a field that indicates a code block group (CBG) based retransmission for at least one transport block (TB). On a condition that the DCI does not include the field, the WTRU may transmit, via a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), a single-bit HARQ feedback for a TB-based retransmission. On a condition that the DCI includes the field, the WTRU may transmit, via the PUCCH, the multi-bit HARQ feedback for the CBG-based retransmission. The WTRU may be configured to provide the single-bit HARQ feedback for the TB-based retransmission and a multi-bit HARQ feedback for the CBG-based retransmission.

Method and apparatus for improving hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback performance of enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) when impacted by low latency traffic

A method comprises receiving information that includes a gNodeB type parameter and a random access response window length parameter. The method further comprises determining that a gNodeB is a non-terrestrial gNodeB. The method further comprises determining a minimum round trip time (RTT). The method further comprises determining a time offset for a random access response window. The method further comprises determining a length of the random access response window based on the received random access response window length parameter and a non-terrestrial network based table. The method further comprises setting the random access response window based on the time offset. The method further comprises monitoring a downlink control channel on monitoring occasions within the random access response window.

Random access in a non-terrestrial network

Methods, apparatuses, systems, etc. for, and/or for use in connection with, performing initial access in a non-terrestrial network (NTN) of a communications system. Among such methods is a method that may be implemented in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and may include any of receiving, from the NTN, differential delay information and physical random access channel (PRACH) configuration information indicating a set of preambles and a PRACH occasions configuration; determining a set of candidate PRACH occasions, from among a plurality of PRACH occasions of the PRACH occasion configuration, based on the differential delay information; selecting a preamble from a group of the preambles allocated to one candidate PRACH occasion of the set of candidate PRACH occasions; and transmitting the selected preamble using a PRACH resource corresponding to the one candidate PRACH occasion.

A method of performing a timing advance adjustment between a user equipment (UE) and a non-terrestrial network (NTN) includes receiving and decoding a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) including closed loop information; receiving and decoding system information including open loop information; determining a timing advance value based on either the closed loop information or the open loop information; and controlling timing of an uplink transmission signal, transmitted from the UE, based on the timing advance value.

Methods for updating timing advance and beam and bandwidth part switching for non-terrestrial networks

Interference for reference symbols in URLLC/eMBB multiplexing may be reduced. URLLC and/or eMBB reference signal (RS) interference may be reduced regardless whether the URLLC and eMBB reference signals and data are multiplexed and superimposed using the same numerology or different numerologies and/or regardless whether the URLLC and eMBB reference signals may be aligned or misaligned (e.g., may or may not use a common resource). An URLLC transmission may preempt an eMBB transmission. For the URLLC and eMBB transmissions using a same numerology, a RS reuse indication may be used. The RS reuse indication may indicate whether a RS in the preempted portion of the eMBB transmission may be reused. A channel estimation function set may be estimated, and channel estimation may be performed using the determined channel estimation function set. The eMBB transmission and the URLLC transmission may be decoded based on the performed channel estimation.
