Disclosed are white space communications systems for wideband communications over TVWS bands. The white space communications systems include tunable frequency filters for providing non-contiguous coverage according to WSDB requirements blocking segments associated with occupied TV channels.

Systems and methods which provide resource sharing techniques implementing opportunistic shared resource utilization using dynamic traffic shaping are disclosed. Embodiments implement a multi-part transmission frame generation process in which data packets of various different traffic flows are selected for the transmission frame to fill the frame capacity. For example, scheduling logic may apply traffic shaping logic to select data packet queues from which data packets are to be included in a frame and to initially determine a number of packets to be included in the frame from each selected data packet queue according to the traffic shaping logic. Thereafter, the frame may be analyzed to determine if excess capacity remains. The scheduling logic may then apply traffic shaping logic to the data packet queues to implement an opportunistic scheme for including additional data packets in the frame and thereby fill the excess capacity.

Systems disclosed herein may allocate buffer space using methods, which prevent other resource allocation methods from apportioning the other resources in a way that inhibits system needs from being met. Performance in multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna systems may be enhanced by configuring beams in a direction that reduces coupling between the beams. A decoupling metric may be calculated based on signal strengths received through the beams when an antenna system is pointed in different directions. The decoupling metric may be used to select a particular direction for operation of the antenna system. The decoupling metric may be combined with the signal strengths from each beam to select a direction for the antenna. An interface provides information to a user during positioning of the antenna to allow the user to select a direction for placement of the antenna that reduces coupling between beams in the MIMO antenna system.

The present invention relates to systems and methods for a multi-cell deployment model of a wireless backhaul network that implements frequency reuse. The backhaul network includes a plurality of cells, each of which includes a center hub supporting wireless backhaul communication over four geographic sectors. A first tier of the plurality of cells includes a center cell configured to support a first alternating frequency reuse pattern of a first channel and a second channel over four corresponding geographic sectors. A second tier of the plurality of cells surrounds the first tier. The second tier includes a first cell configured to support the first alternating reuse pattern over four corresponding geographic sectors, and wherein the first cell is horizontally adjacent to the center cell. The second tier also includes a second cell configured to support a second alternating reuse pattern over four corresponding geographic sectors, wherein the second alternating frequency reuse pattern includes the first alternating frequency reuse pattern rotated by ninety degrees. The second cell is vertically adjacent to the center cell, and offset the center cell by half an edge.
