Various embodiments include systems and methods of determining whether media access control (MAC) address spoofing is present in a network by a wireless communication device. A processor of the wireless communication device may determine an anticipated coherence interval based on a beacon frame received from an access point. The processor may schedule an active scan request and may determine whether a response frame corresponding to the scheduled active request is received within the anticipated coherence interval. The processor may calculate a first correlation coefficient in response to the response frame being received within the anticipated coherence interval and may determine that MAC address spoofing is not present in the network when the first correlation coefficient is greater than a first predetermined threshold.

Detecting media access control (MAC) address spoofing in a wi-fi network using channel correlation

Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A user equipment (UE), for example, may determine a content size of an uncompressed buffer and a content size of a compressed buffer. The UE may then generate a buffer status report (BSR) based on the content sizes of the uncompressed buffer and the compressed buffer. Alternatively, a base station may receive a BSR based on a size of an uncompressed buffer of the UE. The base station may then receive a compressed packet from the UE and may determine a compression gain based on a size of the compressed packet and a size of a corresponding uncompressed packet. The base station may then adjust the received BSR based on the compression gain.

Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a UE. In aspects, a receiver may receive a transmission requesting information about support for data compression. The receiver may determine parameters related to the types of supported data compression and communicate the information to the transmitting device. In some cases, the receiver may then receive a message from the transmitting entity that requests establishment of a data compression configuration. The receiver may respond with confirmation or rejection of the proposed compression configuration. If the configuration is confirmed, the transmitter and receiver may exchange compressed data packets according to the configuration. The devices may exchange status and control information related to the compression configuration (e.g., in a compression header of a compressed message or a separate status and/or control information message).

Evolved data compression scheme signaling

Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a device. A transmitting device such as a base station may select some packets for direct transmission to a receiving device using data compression based on the reliability of the direct connection. The transmitting device may select other packets for indirect transmission via an unreliable connection using uncompressed packets or compressed packets that will not be used to update a compression buffer. In some cases, uncompressed packets may also be sent via the reliable connection. If a packet sent over the unreliable connection is lost, it may be transmitted over the reliable connection.

Evolved data compression scheme for unreliable transmission modes

A user equipment (UE) and source base station may use data compression techniques for data packets sent between them. During a handover, the source base station may provide data compression context to a target base station, thus enabling the target base station to continue the data compression following the handover without having to reestablish the data compression context. The source base station may determine data compression capabilities of the UE or the target base station, or both, and may communicate the determined data compression capabilities to the UE or target base station. The source base station may identify at least one gap in a sequence of packets received from the UE, and communicate the existence of the gap to the target base station, which may request retransmission of packets associated with the gap.

Data compression techniques for handover and radio link failure recovery

Various embodiments provide methods, devices, and non-transitory processor-readable storage media enabling rogue access point detection with a communications device by sending multiple probes via different network connections to a remote server and receiving probe replies. Various embodiments may include a communication device transmitting a first probe addressed to a server via a first network connection and a second probe addressed to the server via a second network connection. Upon receiving a first probe reply from the server via the first network connection and a second probe reply from the server via the second network connection server, the communications device may analyze the received probe replies to determine whether an access point of either the first network or the second network is a rogue access point.

Network attack detection using multi-path verification

Various embodiments include methods, and computing devices implementing the methods, for analyzing sensor information to identify an abnormal vehicle behavior. A computing device may monitor sensors (e.g., a closely-integrated vehicle sensor, a loosely-integrated vehicle sensor, a non-vehicle sensor, etc.) in the vehicle to collect the sensor information, analyze the collected sensor information to generate an analysis result, and use the generated analysis result to determine whether a behavior of the vehicle is abnormal. The computing device may also generate a communication message in response to determining that the behavior of the vehicle is abnormal, and send the generated communication message to an external entity.

Methods and systems for utilizing information collected from multiple sensors to protect a vehicle from malware and attacks

Various embodiments provide methods, devices, and non-transitory processor-readable storage media enabling network path probing with a communications device by sending probes via a network connection to a STUN server and receiving probe replies. The communications device may increment a counter and transmit a test probe configured to be dropped at the first access point (NAT) causing all subsequent NATs to release their IP/port mappings. The communications device may send another probe to the STUN server and receive a probe reply. The communications device may compare the first and second probe replies to determine whether the final IP addresses within the network path match. By continuously incrementing the counter and querying access points, the communications device may determine the number of access points lay along any given network path. The presence of addition or unexpected numbers of NAT Servers may indicate the presence of a rogue access point.

Network path probing using available network connections

Various embodiments provide methods, devices, and non-transitory processor-readable storage media enabling network probing with a communication device based on the communication device sending a probe via a first network connection and receiving the probe via a second network connection. By leveraging a capability of a communication device to establish two network connections at the same time, various embodiments may enable a single communication device to act as both a probing client and a probing server. In this manner, various embodiments may enable standalone network probing, i.e., network probing that may not require a remote dedicated probing server to act as a probe generator or a probe sink.

Aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communications that may be performed (e.g., by a user equipment) for location information reporting. The method generally includes determining one or more properties of the UE and adjusting one or more parameters of location information reporting based on the determined one or more properties.

Various embodiments include methods, and computing devices configured to implement the methods, for anomaly monitoring using context-based sensor output correlation. A computing device may obtain output of a first sensor and may determine that an anomaly is likely to occur based on the obtained output of the first sensor. The computing device may transmit a message indicating that the anomaly is likely to occur, causing receiving computing devices to begin logging output of sensors of the receiving computing devices. The computing device may determine whether the anomaly did occur. If the anomaly did occur, the computing device may transmit a sensor output request. Nearby computing devices may receive this sensor output request and may transmit collected sensor data to the first computing device. The first computing device may receive the sensor output collected by the various receiving devices and may correlate the first sensor output with the received sensor output.

Methods and systems for context based anomaly monitoring

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications and, more particularly, to predicting a system loss event and/or proactive system recovery. Aspects of the present disclosure relate to techniques and apparatus for system loss event (e.g., radio link failure event) geo-coding and proactive system recovery. According to certain aspects, a user equipment (UE) may generate and store information about one or more system loss events associated with the UE. The UE may then predict one or more other system loss events associated with the UE based on this information and take action, based on the prediction to continue communication of the UE.
