An automatic dishwashing composition is provided including a builder; a phosphonate; a nonionic surfactant; and a dispersant polymer, comprising: structural units of formula I wherein each Ris independently selected from a hydrogen and a —C(O)CHgroup; and structural units of formula II wherein each Ris independently selected from a hydrogen and a —CHgroup; and wherein the automatic dishwashing composition contains ≤0.1 wt % of dispersant polymer having a lactone end group and wherein the dispersant polymer has a weight average molecular weight of 1,500 to 10,000 Daltons.

An automatic dishwashing composition is provided including a builder; a phosphonate; a nonionic surfactant; and a dispersant polymer comprising: 60 to 98 wt % of structural units of formula I wherein each Ris independently selected from a hydrogen and a &#x2014;CHgroup; and 2 to 40 wt % of structural units of formula II wherein each Ris independently selected from a &#x2014;Calkyl group and wherein each Ris independently selected from a hydrogen and a methyl group.

An automatic dishwashing composition is provided including a builder; a phosphonate; a nonionic surfactant; and a dispersant polymer, comprising: 10 to 65 wt % of structural units of formula I wherein each Rand Ris independently selected from a hydrogen and a Calkyl group; 10 to 80 wt % of structural units of formula II wherein each Ris independently selected from a hydrogen and a &#x2014;C(O)CHgroup; and 10 to 65 wt % of structural units of formula III wherein each Ris independently selected from a hydrogen and a &#x2014;CHgroup; and wherein at least one of Rand Ris a Calkyl group in at least 1 mol % of the structural units of formula I in the dispersant polymer; wherein the dispersant polymer has a lactone end group and wherein the dispersant polymer has a weight average molecular weight of 1,500 to 6,000 Daltons.

An automatic dishwashing composition is provided including a dispersant polymer; a builder; and a surfactant, wherein the surfactant is a fatty alcohol alkoxylate of formula I: wherein Ris a linear or branched, saturated Calkyl group; Ris a linear saturated Calkyl group; m has an average value of 22 to 42; n has an average value of 4 to 12; wherein m+n is an average value of 26 to 54; wherein the fatty alcohol alkoxylate has an average ethyleneoxy unit concentration per molecule, X, of &#x3e;45 wt %; and, wherein the fatty alcohol alkoxylate has a ratio, Z, equal to X divided by n, wherein the ratio, Z, is &#x3c;9.5.

A phosphorus-free automatic dishwashing detergent composition comprising 2.5 to 8 wt % of a first polymer comprising polymerized units of: (i) 55 to 85 wt % of a C-Cmonoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, (ii) 2 to 30 wt % of a C-Cmonoethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid and (iii) 2 to 15 wt % of a C-Cmonoethylenically unsaturated tertiary amine; and having Mfrom 2,000 to 100,000.

Additive for reducing spotting in automatic dishwashing systems

A surfactant for use in an automatic dishwashing composition is provided, wherein the surfactant is a glycidyl ether-capped ethoxylated alcohol as noted in formula I. Wherein Ris a linear, saturated Calkyl group, Ris a linear or branched saturated Calkyl group, m has an average value of 10 to 50, and n has an average value of &#x3e;1 to 2. Also provided are automatic dishwashing compositions comprising said surfactant. 

Surfactants for spot prevention in automatic dishwashing compositions

Provided is a detergent composition and method for reducing filming and spotting in automatic dishwashing systems. The composition comprises: aspartic acid diacetic acid or salt thereof; a dispersant polymer comprising a (meth)acrylic polymer with a Mw from 2000 to 100,000; a builder; and a surfactant.

Automatic dishwashing detergent

Provided is a polymer blend in granular form and a process for making the blend. The blend is suitable for use as an additive in a variety of applications, such as in detergent formulations. The blend comprises: (i) one or more first polymers each independently having a weight-average molecular weight of 35,000 to 100,000 g/mol and each independently comprising polymerized units of (a) 22 to 80 wt % of one or more monoethylenically unsaturated C3-C6 carboxylic acid monomers, and (b) 20 to 78 wt % of one or more C1-C12 alkyl (meth)acrylate monomers; and (ii) one or more second polymers each independently having a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000 to 45,000 g/mol and each independently comprising polymerized units of 50 to 100 wt % of one or more monoethylenically unsaturated C3-C6 carboxylic acid monomers, wherein component (i) comprises from 1 wt % to 50 wt % based on the total weight of (i) and (ii), wherein the polymer blend is in granular form, and wherein one or more polymers of the polymer blend is at least partially neutralized.
