A battery pack includes: a plurality of battery modules each including a plurality of battery cells arranged side by side in a first direction; and a cooling mechanism having passages arranged adjacent to the plurality of battery modules to conduct a heat transfer medium to cool the plurality of battery modules, the cooling mechanism including: a plurality of inflow tubes arranged adjacent to a center line extending through centers of the plurality of battery modules in the first direction, the plurality of inflow tubes having first distal ends to receive heat transfer medium and second distal ends to discharge heat transfer medium; and a plurality of outflow tubes connected to the second distal ends of the plurality of inflow tubes to discharge heat transfer medium therefrom, the plurality of outflow tubes being disposed in a position further outwardly from the center line than the plurality of inflow tubes.

Battery pack

A battery pack includes a series of battery cells, a series of bus bars electrically connecting the series of battery cells, and a terminal member. The terminal member includes a first metal layer extending from an internal connection position connected to at least one of the series of bus bars to an external connection position for supplying output power of the battery pack. The terminal member also includes a second metal layer covering the first metal layer at the external connection position. The second metal layer includes a second metal different from a first metal of the first metal layer. Therefore, the battery pack has an improved structure for stable and low-resistance connection.

An apparatus includes: a first temperature sensor; a second temperature sensor; a circuit board adjacent to one or more battery cells; and a controller to calculate a temperature of the one or more battery cells based on signals output from the first and second temperature sensors. The first temperature sensor may be closer to the one or more battery cells than the second temperature sensor, and the second temperature sensor may be closer to at least one circuit of the circuit board than the first temperature sensor.

Battery module including multiple temperature sensors

A battery pack includes: a plurality of battery cells; a plurality of frames each between two adjacent battery cells among the battery cells in a direction, the frames coupled to and facing each other; and a wiring substrate mounted on the frames and configured to collect status information of the battery cells from the battery cells, and each of the frames includes a latching protrusion and a tensioner which protrude therefrom and press against an upper surface and a lower surface of the wiring substrate, respectively. The battery pack has an improved structure in which the position of the wiring substrate for obtaining and collecting status information of the plurality of battery cells may be stably fixed.

A battery module includes a circuit board, bus bars, a first temperature sensor, a second temperatures sensor, and a controller. The circuit board is over a plurality of battery cells. The bus bars are connected to the battery cells and the circuit board. The first temperature sensor is on the circuit board to measure a first temperature of the battery cells. The second temperature sensor is on the circuit board and spaced from the first temperature sensor. The second temperature sensor measures a second temperature from the circuit board. The controller is on the circuit board, receive information indicative of the first temperature and the second temperature, and calculates an estimated temperature of each of the battery cells.

Battery module

A battery pack including a housing; at least one battery module arranged in the housing; and a cooling plate coupled to the housing and cooling the at least one battery module, wherein the cooling plate includes a first cooling plate that contacts the at least one battery module; a second cooling plate coupled to the first cooling plate, the second cooling plate including a flow path therein; and a container on the second cooling plate, the container having an inner space that is connected to the flow path.
