A method for dynamic allocation of radio UL Physical Resource Block pairs of a plurality of subframes in a cell of an FDMA RAN. For each of the plurality of subframes, using a bandwidth layout in frequency domain for an UL bandwidth of the cell, in which the bandwidth layout has an inner region for a PUSCH positioned between outer regions for a PUCCH. For each of the outer regions, a PUCCH layout comprises an innermost section for PUCCH Format 1 and a middle section and an outermost section are PUCCH Formats 2 and 3. Depending on the traffic load of the cell, dynamically allocating, contiguously inwards, PRB pairs to Scheduling Requests in the outer regions and contiguously extending the inner region as allowed by the dynamic allocation of PRB pairs in the outer regions in each of the plurality of subframes.

Dynamic UL PRB resource allocation

A method and apparatus for enabling service aware congestion control of PS (Packet Switched) data to be performed in a communication network. In the communication network PS data is communicated between a core network of the communication network and one or more User Equipments, UE, via the communication network node. Each UE is associated to the core network by one or more PS connections, and each of the PS connections is applied by the UE for a respective PS data service. When performing the service aware congestion control, information related to a respective PS data service is obtained, and priority information is provided to a resource manager arranged in the communication network. The priority information is based on the information related to the respective PS data service for a plurality of the PS connections. The resource manager is then enabled to perform congestion control of the PS connections based on the priority information. By determining for which PS data services the PS connections are currently applied, and prioritize the PS connections accordingly, the communication network node may reallocate RAN communication resources to higher prioritized PS data services from less prioritized PS data services. Thereby, a more flexible and effective use of available RAN communication resources may be achieved.

Method and apparatus relating to congestion control

The present disclosure relates to embodiments of a node entity and method for scheduling user data packets on a common channel of a base station node. The common channel being shared by a number of mobile telecommunications operators, OPi, i=1, 2, 3, . . . . The scheduling of the user data packets is performed in consecutive Transmission Time Intervals, TTIs, and in dependence of which operator OPi serving different user packets. During a TTI, the data packets are transmitted according to scheduling determined in the adjacent previous TTI. During the TTI, a scheduler controller calculates and determines the prioritized OPi for the next TTI, said calculation being performed by calculation based on the share of TTIs with competition per operator within a sliding window and a list keeping information based on a predetermined number of previous, consecutive TTIs within the sliding window.

Time multiplexing based common channel scheduler algorithm for flexible resource sharing

The present invention relates to a method and device for scheduling transmission of data of terminals in a cell. To this end, information is acquired indicating type of communication service for which a first terminal is to be scheduled. Then, the first terminal and at least a second terminal in the cell is scheduled for transmission of data on the basis of the acquired information indicating the type of communication service for which the first terminal is to be scheduled, the at least second terminal being scheduled for data transmission in time periods between data transmissions of the first terminal.

Predictive EUL scheduling based on service awareness

When a serving Node B has deactivated Continuous Packet Connectivity and the UE then is reconfigured with a RRC reconfiguration message, it can happen that the UE acts as though CPC is activated whereas the serving Node B, on the other hand, acts as though CPC functionality is still deactivated. In several embodiments of techniques for addressing this problem, previously known signaling messages and/or user plane frame headers are modified to include new indicators/parameters, which are used to signal that a given UE should be expected to have non-uniform behavior with respect to remembering CPC activation status after acting on a RRC Reconfiguration message, because it is a Release 7 or Release 8 mobile station. These new indicators/parameters may also be used by a Node B, in some embodiments, to acknowledge the receipt of an indication from an RNC that non-uniform behavior should be anticipated for a given UE.

Managing behavior of Release-7 and Release-8 user equipment during continuous packet connectivity configuration

A radio access network () comprises a radio network controller () and a radio base station (). The radio network controller () is configured to perform admission control and to allocate resources of a cell. The radio base station () is configured to determine load/congestion on a high speed shared channel and to generate an indication of the load/congestion for transmission to the radio network controller. In some example embodiments and modes, at least one of the radio network controller and the radio base station is configured to allocate at least some of the resources for the high speed shared channel to support a guaranteed service and also to allocate at least some resources to support a non-guaranteed service. In some example implementations of this aspect, a user(s) of the non-guaranteed service is permitted to use the resources up to a reserved resource level of resources. According to another non-limiting aspect of the technology, the radio base station is further configured to generate a recommended action for dealing with the load/congestion.
