The method may comprise the steps of: establishing a first radio resource control (RRC) connection to the base station; establishing a PC5 connection to the second device; on the basis that there is no data transmission and reception between the first device and the base station, initiating a Uu data inactivity timer; on the basis that there is no data transmission and reception between the first device and the second device, initiating a sidelink (SL) data inactivity timer; and on the basis that the Uu data inactivity timer and the SL data inactivity timer are expired, releasing the first RRC connection between the first device and the base station.
