Various embodiments of the disclosure relate generally to an electronic device and its operating method for creating a calibration condition of an in-display fingerprint sensor and calibrating the fingerprint sensor according to the created condition, using a touchscreen display. The electronic device may according to various embodiments of the disclosure include a housing, a touchscreen display disposed inside the housing and viewable through one surface of the housing, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor disposed inside the housing an overlapping one area of the touchscreen display when viewed from above the one surface of the housing, the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor further comprising a temperature measuring sensor, at least one processor operatively coupled with the touchscreen display and the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and at least one memory operatively coupled with the at least one processor, and configured to store a first reference fingerprint image relating to authentication using the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, wherein the at least one memory may be configured to store instructions that, when executed, cause the at least one processor to control the electronic device to: measure a temperature change using the temperature measuring sensor, determine a presence of a foreign substance on the one area using the touchscreen display, and determine whether to calibrate the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor according to the temperature change, based at least in part on determining the presence of a foreign substance.

Electronic device including ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and operating method thereof

An electronic device and method for recognizing a touch input on the electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a touch panel and a processor. The processor configured to determine the type of an object contacting the touch panel, set, when the object is of a first type, a threshold for touch recognition on the touch panel to a first designated value, set, when the object is of a second type, the threshold to a second designated value, and recognize a touch input by the object on the basis of the threshold set to one of the first designated value and the second designated value.

Electronic device and method for recognizing touch input therefor

A method of processing touch events and an electronic device adapted to the method are provided. The electronic device includes: a touch screen; a processor electrically connected to the touch screen; a touch control circuit, electrically connected to the touch screen and the processor, the touch control circuit configured to create a touch event in response to a touch input detected on the touch screen; and a memory electrically connected to the processor. The processor is configured to execute at least one application stored in the memory, to determine attribute information of the executed application, to generate touch area information containing an attribute corresponding to at least part of the area of the touch screen and information regarding at least part of the area of the touch screen, based on the attribute information, and to provide the touch area information to the touch control circuit. The touch control circuit determines whether a touch event corresponding to the detected touch input is created, based on the touch area information.

Method of processing touch events and electronic device adapted thereto

A touch event processing method and a portable device implementing the same is provided for protecting a touch event occurring on a touch screen from hacking. Touch coordinates from a touch panel are first provided to the first operating system. It is then determined whether a function corresponding to the touch coordinates is to execute a security application. If so, a touch event processing right handover message is transmitted from the first operating system to the second, to hand over a right of processing a touch event that occurs on the touch panel to the second operating system.
