The inspection device generates first measurement data and second measurement data. The inspection device compares second image data with compensation data that is based on the first and second measurement data, and the defect characteristic classifying unit classifies, as a first defect pixel or a second defect pixel a plurality of pixels, based on the first measurement data, the second measurement data, and the second image data. The compensation data generating unit generates a first compensating value for compensating for the first defect pixel in a first pixel unit, and a second compensating value for compensating for the second defect pixel in a second pixel unit different from the first unit.
