A display device including a display panel having a first area, a second area, and a plurality of pixels to provide an image during a frame period, and a touch panel including a first touch part including first and second touch coils insulated from each other, and a second touch part including first touch electrodes and second touch electrodes insulated each other, in which corresponding second scan signals are applied to the first touch electrodes disposed in the first area when corresponding first scan signals are applied to the first touch coils disposed in the second area during a first period of the frame period, the second touch coils are configured to provide first sensing signals according to a resonant frequency of an input device, and the second touch electrodes are configured to provide second sensing signals according to a variation in a capacitance.

Display device and method of driving the same in two modes

A display device includes a display panel and a touch panel. The touch panel calculates coordinate information of an input position by an electrostatic capacitive method in a first mode and calculates the coordinate information of the input position by an electromagnetic induction method in a second mode. The touch panel includes scan line groups and source line groups, which are operated as touch electrodes or touch coils on the basis of the operating mode thereof. In addition, the touch panel includes touch electrodes and touch coils, which are individually operated on the basis of the operating mode thereof.

A touch-sensitive display device is provided. The touch-sensitive display device includes a display panel and a touch panel. The display panel includes first and second substrates facing each other. The display panel is configured to display images through the second substrate. The touch panel is disposed on the second substrate and is configured to detect a touch event. The touch panel includes sensing electrodes spaced apart from each other, a conductive layer, and a touch processor. The conductive layer is electrically separated from the sensing electrodes. The touch processor is configured to provide sensing signals to the sensing electrodes and to obtain touch coordinates to which the touch event is input based on delay values of the sensing signals.

Display device including a touch panel that detects touch based on sensing signal delay

A touch display device is provided which includes a display panel for displaying an image, and a touch screen panel disposed on the display panel and configured to sense at least one touch. The touch screen panel includes a touch substrate at which the touch can be generated; sensing electrodes provided on the touch substrate and spaced apart from one another, each of the sensing electrodes being formed of a piezoresistive material having a resistance value that varies according to an applied force; and a touch processor electrically connected to the sensing electrodes. The touch processor extracts a touch coordinate based on time constants of sensing signals applied to the sensing electrodes, and calculates a touch force of the touch based on resistance values of the sensing electrodes.

Touch display apparatus sensing touch force

A display apparatus includes a first display substrate, a second display substrate, pixels, a scan line, a sensing line, a first driver, a second driver, and a coordinate calculator. The pixels include pixel rows and pixel columns. The scan line surrounds at least one pixel row of the pixel rows. The sensing line is insulated from the scan line and surrounds at least one pixel column of the pixel columns. The first driver applies a scan signal to the scan line and the second driver outputs a sensing signal provided from the sensing line. The coordinate calculator receives the sensing signal to calculate coordinate information. Each of the scan line and the sensing line is disposed on different layers from each other.

Display apparatus and method of manufacturing the same

A display apparatus includes a first base substrate, a touch sensing part provided on the first base substrate, an electronic device provided on the first base substrate, a black matrix provided on the first base substrate, a signal line provided on the black matrix to apply a driving signal to the electronic device, a second base substrate facing the first base substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first base substrate and the second base substrate.

Display apparatus having touch sensing part and method of manufacturing the same

A display device includes a first pixel electrode corresponding to a first pixel area. The display device further includes a transistor electrically connected to the first pixel electrode. The display device further includes a plurality of gate lines extending in a first direction and including a first gate line, the first gate line being electrically connected to the transistor and being configured to transmit a first gate signal for controlling the transistor. The display device further includes a plurality of first-type sensors including a first first-type sensor, the first first-type sensor being configured to provide a first output signal according to at least the first gate signal. The display device further includes a processing part electrically connected to the first first-type sensor and configured to use the first output signal for determining a first coordinate value associated with a touch applied on the display device.

A display device includes a first display substrate, which provides an input surface and includes a blocking area and a plurality of opening areas, and first and second touch sensors disposed in the blocking area. The first touch sensors receive different scan signals according to an operation mode thereof. The second touch sensors output first sensing signals on the basis of a variation in capacitance in a first operation mode and output second sensing signals according to a resonant frequency of an input device in a second operation mode.

A display apparatus includes a display panel that displays an image during a display period and detects a touch event during a non-display period. The display panel includes a plurality of common electrodes and a plurality of data lines capacitively coupled to the common electrodes during the non-display period. Coordinate information of a position at which the touch event occurs is calculated on the basis of a capacitance variation of the common electrodes and the data lines.

Display apparatus

An optical touch system includes: a coordinate processor; a display device; and an optical element. The optical element is configured to emit light towards the display device and provide information about reflected light corresponding to a portion of the emitted light to the coordinate processor. The display device includes: a display panel configured to display an image, a touch substrate disposed on the display panel, the touch substrate including optical recesses each configured to reflect respectively different amounts of incident light, and a protective layer disposed on the touch substrate. The coordinate processor is configured to determine a touch or near-touch coordinate based on the information received from the optical element.
