A system and method for assisting a driver are provided. The method includes receiving, by a controller, vehicle traveling information and calculating a first distance between a present vehicle position and an end node. In addition, the controller is configured to calculate a second distance between the present vehicle position and a preceding vehicle based on the receiving information and calculate a third distance in which coasting is available until a present vehicle speed reaches a predetermined target speed. The method further includes determining, by the controller, whether coasting is available based on the first distance, the second distance, the third distance in which coasting is available, and a present vehicle speed of the vehicle, and outputting, when coasting is available, a message that instructs coasting.

System and method for assisting driver

A system and a method of assisting a driver in driving an electric vehicle in a more environmentally efficient manner are disclosed. In particular, an information collecting section collects information operating the electric vehicle and a control logic section generates control logic and models related to route calculation to a destination and operation of the electric vehicle based on the collected information. A route setting section calculates a plurality of travel routes based on the control logic and the model related to the route calculation and sets an optimum travel route having the highest energy efficiency among the plurality of travel routes. A vehicle driving controller monitors the vehicle state and controls driving of the electric vehicle based on the control logic and the model related to the driving of the electric vehicle when the electric vehicle travels along the optimum travel route set by the route setting section.

Disclosed is drive mode guide system for a vehicle provided with a plurality of drive modes. More specifically, a road information storage unit stores information related a road state. A real-time information storage unit receives and stores environmental information in real time. A vehicle information storage unit stores information related to the vehicle. A control unit then extracts a possible-traveling path and a drive mode and an outputs the possible-traveling path. A suggested drive mode received from the control unit based on the information stored in the road information storage unit, the real-time information storage unit, and the vehicle information storage unit.

A method for starting control of a hybrid vehicle according to another aspect of the present invention may include: deciding a target torque according to starting demand; analyzing an engaging state of a clutch; calculating a clutch slip torque in a case that the clutch slips; requesting correction of an engine output torque according to the clutch slip torque; and correcting the engine output torque through control of air amount and feedback control of ignition timing according to the correction request of the engine output torque.
