A resource allocation method in a wireless communication system for providing a communication service in a given system frequency band to access terminals (ATs) within a broad-band service area around an access point (AP) and to ATs within a narrow-band service area having a radius larger than the radius of the broad-band service area. In the resource allocation method, the system frequency band is divided into a Time Division Duplexing (TDD) interval and a Frequency Division Duplexing (FDD) interval in time, and the TDD interval and the FDD interval are defined as TDD resources and FDD resources, respectively. The TDD resources are allocated to an AT within the broad-band service area, and the FDD resources are allocated to an AT within the narrow-band service area.

Method of allocating resources using hybrid duplexing technique

Provided are a data transmitting and receiving method for a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication system, and a transmitter and a receiver using the method. Accordingly, since precoding matrices of a codebook is constituted using a rotation matrix, expansion of the codebook is easy, and since each of the precoding matrices is determined according to the number of transmit antennas, the codebook is systematically created according to a system. In addition the codebook can be applied to even a correlated channel, and the minimum distance between precoding matrices can advantageously be maximized.

A method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving feedback information in a multi-user multi-antenna system and a system supporting the same are provided, in which all possible combinations are created using column vectors included in a precoding codebook, column vectors are correlated in each of the combinations, column vectors comprising correlations exceeding a reference threshold are designated as similar vectors, at least two similar vector sets are formed with the similar vectors, and feedback information is generated based on the at least two similar vector sets and transmitted.

Method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving feedback information and system supporting the same in a multi-user multi-antenna system

A method for relaying data packets to a subscriber station (SS) by taking a relay station (RS) into consideration when a base station (BS) establishes a data packet scheduling is disclosed. According to the method, a data packet is relayed by RSs, which have a signal intensity greater than a threshold value for all RSs appointed by the BS. Each SS determines whether the SS receives the data packet directly from the BS or via an RS, based on signal intensities between the SS and the BS and between the SS and RSs, and feeds channel information corresponding to the determination back to the BS, thereby allowing the data packet to be transmitted.

Method for relaying data packet for downlink in wireless communication system

Disclosed is a method in a base station for providing a network access service to terminals. Where one of the terminals is selected as a source terminal and at least one of the other terminals is used as a relay node for relaying communication between the base station and the source terminal. Parameters for relay communication are initialized. A relay communication request message including that the parameters is transmitted. In response to the message, a terminal independently sets and performs the relay communication between the base station and the source terminal. Uplink signals are received from the source and relay terminals. The uplink signals received from the source and relay terminals are combined and decoded. A transmit diversity gain is obtained in uplink transmission of a terminal with a single antenna because relay nodes retransmit the source terminal's signal.
