The present invention relates to a method for activating a secondary battery. The present invention comprises: a primary charging step of charging a secondary battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and an electrolyte; a room temperature-aging step of storing, at a room temperature, the secondary battery that has undergone the primary charging step; and a high temperature-aging step of storing, at a high temperature, the secondary battery that has undergone the room temperature-aging step, wherein charging/discharging is performed by alternately applying + current and − current to the secondary battery at the end of the primary charging step. The method for activating a secondary battery according to the present invention includes alternately applying + current and − current to the secondary battery at the end of the primary charging step to stabilize an SEI film, thereby shortening a following-up aging time.

The present invention relates to a porous silicon-silicon oxide-carbon composite comprising a silicon oxide-carbon structure and silicon particles, wherein the silicon oxide-carbon structure comprises a plurality of micropores, and the silicon particles are uniformly distributed in the silicon oxide-carbon structure. The porous silicon-silicon oxide-carbon composite of the present invention shows decreased volume expansion due to the intercalation of lithium ions and improved electric conductivity, and has a porous structure. Accordingly, an electrolyte easily penetrates into the porous structure, and output properties may be improved. When the composite is included in a negative electrode active material, the performance of a lithium secondary battery may be further improved.

Porous silicon-silicon oxide-carbon composite, and method of preparing the same

Provided are a negative electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery and a method of preparing the same, wherein since the negative electrode active material includes porous polycrystalline silicon and the porous polycrystalline silicon includes pores disposed at grain boundaries, the negative electrode active material may exhibit a buffering action by internally absorbing changes in volume of the active material during charge and discharge. As a result, lifetime characteristics of a negative electrode and a battery may be improved.

Provided are an anode active material including a porous silicon oxide-carbon material composite which includes a porous silicon oxide including pores and a line-type carbon material coated on a surface, in the pores, or on the surface and in the pores of the porous silicon oxide, and a method of preparing the anode active material. Since the silicon oxide of the anode active material according to an embodiment of the present invention may include the plurality of pores, resistance to the mechanical stress due to a volume change may be improved. Also, since the line-type carbon material is bonded to the inside of the pores, conductivity may not be decreased even in the case in which internal cracks occur in the porous silicon oxide and lifetime characteristics may be improved.

Anode active material including porous silicon oxide-carbon material composite and method of preparing the same

Provided is an anode including an anode active material including SiO(0&#x3c;x&#x2266;1) and a carbon material having a surface coated with amorphous carbon, wherein a crystal orientation ratio is in a range of 0.07 to 0.17. A lithium secondary battery including the anode of the present invention may have improved life characteristics, low thickness change rate, and improved initial discharge capacity.
