The present disclosure relates to a contact lens containing ceria particles. Further, the present disclosure relates to a method for manufacturing a contact lens containing ceria particles. The method includes preparing ceria particles; preparing poly-2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (PHEMA or poly-HEMA) in a form of cross-linked hydrogel; mixing the ceria particles and the monomer mixture for poly-2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (PHEMA or poly-HEMA) with each other to form a mixture; and injecting the mixture in a mold having a contact lens shape; and performing photo-curing polymerization of the mixture. The contact lens effectively eliminates the reactive oxygen species and harmful radicals that are identified as a cause of eye diseases.

Disclosed is an add-on communication apparatus attached to an in-cable charging control device integrated with a cable assembly to charge an electric vehicle. The add-on communication apparatus includes a first communication module to make wireless communication with a terminal, a second communication module to make wireless communication with the in-cable charging control device, and a control module. The control module receives a command from the terminal through the first communication module, generates a first control command based on the command, and transmits the first control command to the in-cable charging control device through the second communication module.

Add-on communication apparatus attached to in-cable charging control device and operating method thereof

Disclosed is a charger for an electric vehicle. The charger includes a connector connected to the electric vehicle, a plug connected to an outlet of the commercial power source, a switching unit to selectively shut off the current according to a temperature of the charger, a display unit to display information about an operation of the charger, and a control unit to control the operation of the charger, wherein the control unit controls the display unit to display two kinds of mutually different information when the current is shut off because the battery is fully charged or the connector is separated from the electric vehicle and when the current supplied from the commercial power source to the electric vehicle is shut off by the switching unit. The charger is prevented from being damaged due to overheat during the charging operation for the electric vehicle.

A system for authenticating a user of an in-home display (IHD) and an authentication method are provided. A user of an IHD is authenticated by using a mobile terminal including an authentication application. The authentication system receive authentication request data from the mobile terminal and allows the IHD to display a message in relation to user confirmation, and when certain requirements are met, the authentication system performs user authentication to permit a user to use the IHD.
