A method for automatically transmitting a greeting message in a telephone answering system contemplates the steps of: recording a greeting message in response to input of a recording key; detecting a hook-off state in response to an incoming call; determining whether a greeting message transmitting function is set by checking a logic state exhibited by a function flag, in response to detection of the hook-off state; and automatically transmitting the greeting message to a caller when the greeting message transmitting function is set.

Method for automatically transmitting greeting message from receiving

A method for forming contact holes having different depths in an insulating layer which covers a semiconductor substrate. A first step selectively etches the upper parts of the insulating layer which correspond to contact holes having a greater depth than the shallowest contact hole, using a first mask pattern. A second etch step selectively etches the remainder of the insulating layer for all of the contact holes at the same time using a second mask pattern. Thus, contact hole misalignment is kept to a minimum.

Method for forming contact holes having different depths

There is disclosed a call transfer method and device of an automatic answering phone, whereby a memory integrated circuit (IC) and a magnetic tape are used to commonly store an answering message, a call transfer message, and a caller's message. The subscriber's message and the call transfer message are recorded in different portions of the same cassette tape for reproducing the answering message.
