The present disclosure relates to a display device and a display method for reducing a burn-in phenomenon by performing an on-board artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm and/or machine learning algorithm to predict a display duration of an object in an image, and processing the image based on the predicted display duration. The display method according to one embodiment of the present disclosure may include extracting a predetermined type of object from an inputted image, predicting a display duration of the extracted object, and adjusting a luminance value of a pixel in an area corresponding to the object in the image based on the predicted display duration, and displaying the image in which the adjusted luminance value of the pixel is reflected.

The image receiving unit receives a 3-dimensions (3D) image and system information including additional information of the 3D image (i.e., additional 3D image information), generates 3D signaling information based upon the additional 3D image information included in the system information, and transmits the generated 3D signaling information along with the 3D image through a digital interface. And, the display unit receives the 3D signaling information along with the 3D image through the digital interface, formats the 3D image based upon the receiving 3D signaling information, and displays the formatted 3D image.

A broadcast receiver and a 3D broadcast data processing method are disclosed. The processing method includes receiving a broadcast signal including system information (SI) and video data, parsing SI of a program, and determining whether the program provides a 3D broadcast service on the basis of the SI, extracting, if the program provides a 3D broadcast service, 3D broadcast data corresponding to the 3D broadcast service, and processing the 3D video data according to the SI. The broadcast receiver includes a receiving unit receiving a broadcast signal including SI and video data, an SI processor parsing system information of a program, and determining whether the program provides a 3D broadcast service on the basis of the SI, a demultiplexer extracting, if the program provides a 3D broadcast service, 3D broadcast data corresponding to a 3D broadcast service, and a video processing unit processing 3D video data according to the SI.

A receiving system and a method of processing data are disclosed herein. The receiving system includes a receiving unit, a system information processor, a decoding unit, and a display unit. The receiving unit receives a broadcast signal including a 3D content and system information associated with the 3D content. The system information processor extracts identification information from the system information. Herein, the identification information may identify that the broadcast signal being received by the receiving unit includes the 3D content. The decoding unit decodes the received 3D content based upon transmission format information of the 3D content. Herein, the transmission format information may be included in the extracted identification information. And, the display unit displays the 3D content decoded by the decoding unit as a 3D image based upon a display method of a display device.

A broadcast receiver and a 3D video data processing method thereof are disclosed herein, a 3D video data processing method of a broadcast receiver according to an embodiment of the present invention includes receiving, by a receiving unit, a broadcast signal including 3D video data and 3D complementary video information, wherein the 3D video data include half-resolution base video data and complementary video data for configuring a full-resolution image; parsing, by 3D video information processing unit, a 3D complementary video information; decoding, by a base video decoder, the half-resolution base video data; decoding, by a complementary video decoder, the complementary video data for configuring a full-resolution image; and combining and formatting, by an output formatter, the base video data and the complementary video data using the 3D complementary video information, thereby outputting a full-resolution 3D image.
