A method of driving light-emitting diodes (LEDs), a backlight assembly for performing the method, and a display apparatus having the backlight assembly are disclosed for various embodiments. For example, the backlight assembly includes a light source unit and a light source controller. The light source unit includes red, green, and blue LEDs generating red, green, and blue light, respectively. The light source controller detects amounts of the red, green, and blue light, respectively, to compare the actual light amount ratio of the red, green, and blue light with the reference light amount ratio. The light source controller controls the red, green, and blue LEDs, respectively, so that an actual light amount ratio becomes substantially identical to a reference light amount ratio when the actual light amount ratio is not identical to the reference light amount ratio.

Method of driving light-emitting diodes by controlling maximum amount of light and backlight assembly for performing the method

A light source apparatus includes a light source module, a light sensor, a data converter, a light source controller and a light source driver. The light source module includes a light source. The light sensor generates sensing data by sensing the amount of light generated from the light source. The data converter converts the sensing data which exceeds a maximum value of reference data of a control range into converted sensing data within the control range. The light source controller generates a control signal for controlling the amount of light from the light source based upon the sensing data corresponding to no more than the maximum value or based upon the converted sensing data. The light source driver drives the light source by providing the light source with a driving signal based upon the control signal.

A display apparatus and a method of operating the same are provided. The display apparatus includes a wireless communication device, and a display unit that receives a main clock and is operated by an operating frequency in response to the frequency of the main clock, and a main-clock-providing unit that measures noise in signals received from a wireless communication channel, and changes the frequency of the main clock to reduce the noise.

Display apparatus including wireless communication device and method of operating the same

Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device of which overall size and weight can be minimized. The liquid crystal display device has a light generating unit for generating a light. A light guiding plate guides the light to a display unit for displaying an image. A reflection plate is disposed under the light guiding plate for reflecting the light to the light guiding plate. A receiving container receives the reflection plate, the light guiding plate and the light generating unit. At least one boss is formed on a bottom of the receiving container for preventing the light generating unit from being moved by guiding a position of the light generating unit. Accordingly, the number of the parts installed in the liquid crystal display device can be reduced, and the manufacturing cost can be decreased because the manufacturing process is simplified in comparison with the liquid crystal display device including a separate lamp cover.

A backlight assembly includes a receiving container receiving a light guide plate and a lamp and a fixing member holding the light guide plate. The fixing member supports an incident face of the light guide plate, into which a light emitted from the lamp is incident, thereby preventing movement of the light guide plate towards the lamp. Thus, the backlight assembly may fix the light guide plate to the receiving container without reforming the light guide plate, so that the backlight assembly may supply light having uniform brightness to a liquid crystal display panel to improve its display characteristics.

Backlight assembly and display apparatus having the same

A backlight assembly includes a lamp assembly generating light, a light guide plate changing a path of light incident from the lamp assembly, a receiving container having a bottom part and a side part vertically extending from the bottom part and forming a receiving space, and an adhesive member fixing the light guide plate to the receiving container. The light guide plate includes a prism pattern on a surface, and the adhesive member is attached to a light-adjusting portion opposite to the lamp assembly. Therefore, the light guide plate may be affixed to the receiving container without additional structure and the appearance of the backlight assembly may be improved by preventing modification of the prism pattern.
