Disclosed herein are a video decoding method and apparatus and a video encoding method and apparatus. In video encoding and decoding, multiple partition blocks are generated by splitting a target block. A prediction mode is derived for at least a part of the multiple partition blocks, among the multiple partition blocks, and prediction is performed on the multiple partition blocks based on the derived prediction mode. When prediction is performed on the partition blocks, information related to the target block may be used, and information related to an additional partition block, which is predicted prior to the partition block, may be used.

Disclosed herein are a video decoding method and apparatus and a video encoding method and apparatus. In the encoding and decoding of a video, a prediction mode may be selected from among multiple prediction modes using prediction mode information for a target block, and prediction may be performed on the target block based on the selected prediction mode, wherein the prediction mode information includes information related to a reference block, and wherein the reference block comprises one or more of a spatially neighboring block that is spatially adjacent to the target block and a temporally neighboring block that is temporally adjacent to the target block. Disclosed herein are a video decoding method and apparatus and a video encoding method and apparatus, and more particularly, a method and apparatus for performing filtering in video encoding and decoding. An encoding apparatus may perform filtering on a target, and may generate filtering information indicating whether filtering has been performed on the target. Further, the encoding apparatus may generate a bitstream including filtering information. A decoding apparatus may determine, based on filtering information, whether to perform filtering on a target, and may perform filtering on the target. The decoding apparatus may receive filtering information from the encoding apparatus through a bitstream or may derive filtering information using additional information.

Method and device for filtering

A method of detecting a biomolecule, a computing device performing the method, and a biomolecule detection system therefor are provided. The method includes receiving a terahertz signal that passed deionized water or reference material, receiving a terahertz signal that passed a target including a predetermined biomolecule, extracting a digital modulation characteristic for the received terahertz signal that passed the deionized water and the received terahertz signal that passed the target, and detecting the predetermined biomolecule included in the target by analyzing the extracted digital modulation characteristic, wherein the received terahertz signal that passed the deionized water and the received terahertz signal that passed the target are generated using a digitally modulated optical signal based on a transmission speed determined based on kinematics of the predetermined biomolecule.

Disclosed herein are a method and apparatus for compressing learning parameters for training of a deep-learning model and transmitting the compressed parameters in a distributed processing environment. Multiple electronic devices in the distributed processing system perform training of a neural network. By performing training, parameters are updated. The electronic device may share the updated parameter thereof with additional electronic devices. In order to efficiently share the parameter, the residual of the parameter is provided to the additional electronic devices. When the residual of the parameter is provided, the additional electronic devices update the parameter using the residual of the parameter.
