A multi-path search apparatus and a method in a wireless communication system are provided. The multi-path search apparatus includes a correlator configured to get a 1st correlation value between a received signal and a 1st code, and to get a 2nd correlation value between the received signal and a 2nd code, a coupler configured to couple the 1st correlation value and the 2nd correlation value, and a multi-path information generator configured to get the correlation energy of the output of the coupler and to generate multi-path information.

Multi-path search apparatus and method in a wireless communication system

A method of acquiring initial synchronization in a code division multiple access mobile communication system is provided. The method includes quantizing a received signal into a plurality of levels, calculating correlation values of the quantized received signal and a local code, calculating absolute values of the correlation values, and detecting a position of a maximum value which exceeds a threshold among the absolute values and an ID of a downlink synchronization (SYNC-DL) sequence and determining timing values of available cells and energy values corresponding to the timing values.

Method and apparatus for acquiring synchronization in code division multiple access system

A method and an apparatus for acquiring downlink frame synchronization are provided. The method includes phase-rotating a mid-amble of a first Time Slot (TS) of a received sub-frame within an area and estimating a Channel Impulse Response (CIR), calculating a Maximum Likelihood (ML) between a downlink synchronization code of the received sub-frame and a downlink synchronization code generated in a terminal by using the estimated CIR, correlating downlink synchronization codes of a plurality of sub-frames and the downlink synchronization code generated and calculating ML values of the plurality of sub-frames with respect to the plurality of sub-frames corresponding to M Transmission Time Intervals (TTIs), and calculating hypothesis values of hypotheses according to a frequency interval and a phase offset of the generated downlink synchronization code based on the calculated ML values of the plurality of sub-frames and drawing a frequency offset and a hypothesis corresponding to a maximum value.

An apparatus and a method effectively adds and deletes a relay link in a communication system that includes a multiple relay system. The apparatus and method include determining by a relay mode controller whether to add or delete the relay link with consideration of at least one of a movement velocity of User Equipment (UE), a signal intensity of a Node-B and at least one relay station, and a channel state value of the UE. When addition or deletion of the relay link is determined, a message requesting addition of the relay link or a message informing deletion of the relay link is transmitted by a signaling processor to a relay station corresponding to the relay link whose addition or deletion has been determined.

Apparatus and method for adding and deleting relay link in communication system

An apparatus and a method for interference cancellation in a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) wireless communication system. The method for interference cancellation includes equalizing first reception signals received through two or more reception antennas to estimate transmission signals transmitted through two or more transmission antennas, generating two or more second reception signals in which a mutual interference between the transmission signals is removed from the first reception signals by using the estimated transmission signals, independently equalizing the generated two or more second reception signals, and combining the independently equalized two or more second reception signals to estimate a transmission signal in which an interference is removed.

Apparatus and method for interference cancellation in MIMO wireless communication system

A mobile terminal includes a channel estimation module that is maintained in an active state. A controller determines an activation time point of an equalizer weight calculation module for calculating a tap coefficient. The activation time point is earlier than an activation time point of a main equalizer module, and activates the equalizer weight calculation module at the activation time point so as to calculate the tap coefficient. When the equalizer weight calculation module's operation is completed, the controller activates the main equalizer module, detects a mobile terminal ID, activates an interference cancellation module, and controls the main equalizer module to provide a data signal demodulator with the data signal compensated for by the tap coefficient. A demodulator demodulates the compensated data signal.

Method and apparatus for receiving signal in wireless communication system

A downlink control channel structure in a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) mobile communication system and its operating method are disclosed. Especially, a downlink control channel structure suitable for using a physical shared channel for a control channel, and a time-code allocating method using the same are disclosed. For this purpose, one shared channel is divided by both time and symbol level of orthogonal codes by using a unit channel.

A method of uplink transmission scheduling for a network including at least one radio network controller (RNC), at least one user equipment (UE), and a plurality of Node Bs. The method includes determining a parameter to be applied to an uplink transmission schedule of the at least one UE based on an interference effect caused by the at least one UE to a scheduling Node B or to neighboring Node Bs.

Uplink scheduling method of wireless mobile communication system

A method of uplink transmission scheduling for a network including at least one radio network controller (RNC), at least one user equipment (UE), and a plurality of Node Bs, with the steps of determining a parameter to be used in uplink transmission scheduling by considering uplink noise rise of the plurality of Node Bs, and performing the uplink transmission scheduling in accordance with the determined parameter. By determining the parameter upon considering the effects of the transmit power or transmit rate for a particular UE in soft handover with a scheduling Node B on the uplink noise rise of other neighboring Node Bs that are in soft handover but not scheduled with that particular UE, uplink transmission scheduling performance degradation can be prevented and more effective control of uplink noise rise at each Node B is possible.

Node B scheduling method for mobile communication system

A method of informing a terminal of uplink synchronization acquisition in a mobile communication system by using downlink transmit power control (TPC) bits. The base station modifies and transmits power control bit patterns according to certain 'N' values defined as a pattern 01 count, and the terminal detects an indicator that informs uplink synchronization acquisition by the modified power control bit pattern. The terminal also maintains the transmit power of the synchronization acquisition timing by increasing the transmit power by an amount equal to the decrease caused by receiving the power control bits for detecting uplink synchronization acquisition.
