A passive optical network system includes an optical line terminator (OLT) configured to detect signal strength and a phase of a burst-mode uplink signal from each of optical network units (ONUs) to control the ONUs so as to equalize signal strengths of signals received from the ONUs and configured to control the ONUs so as to adjust a phase of each of the signals received from the ONUs, and the ONUs are each configured to control signal strength and phase of an burst-mode uplink signal and transmit a resultant burst-mode uplink signal under control of the OLT.

Passive optical network systems

An optical line terminal (OLT) includes: a first optical transceiver and a second optical transceiver each configured to transmit or receive at least one optical signal among an optical signal of a first standard and an optical signal of a second standard through an optical cable inserted thereinto, and convert between an optical signal and an electrical signal; a first connector configured to electrically connect an extended output terminal of an electrical signal input/output unit of the first transceiver and an extended output terminal of an electrical signal input/output unit of the second optical transceiver; and a second connector configured to selectively connect the extended output terminal and a default output terminal of the electrical signal input/output unit of the second optical transceiver.

Optical line terminal

Disclosed is a technology for a maintenance system. The maintenance system includes a customer-premises equipment (CPE), a smart device configured to connect to the CPE through short-range wireless communication, and a maintenance service server configured to communicate with the smart device. The maintenance system provides a remote maintenance service capable of resolving a failure by ordering an appropriate action through execution of a maintenance service app installed on the smart device according to a failure cause and analysis of collected state information according to a diagnosis instruction corresponding to a diagnosis scenario; resolving a failure by receiving action information from the maintenance service server, which stores action information for pre-resolved failure items; resolving a failure by receiving a help from a maintenance specialist; or remotely resolving a failure without an onsite visit of a maintenance specialist by providing a means for debugging the CPE through a remote console connection.

System and method for remote maintenance

Disclosed is a new advance in a network management function of an optical time terminal (OLT). A virtual switch management program is running on the disclosed OLT. The virtual switch management program provides a switch management environment for a single chassis-based Ethernet switch with a plurality of port extender cards corresponding to the optical network terminals and being mounted thereon through a management terminal. The virtual switch management program receives a switch management command for each port extender through the management terminal and outputs a fiber LAN management command corresponding to the switch management command to an optical network terminal corresponding to each port extender.

Optical line terminal for providing management function emulating virtual chassis switch for fiber local area network system

Disclosed is network management technology for an optical line terminal. The optical line terminal allocates a line identifier according to a line length from each port to an end thereof. Terminal connection information is managed such that a corresponding line identifier is mapped to a measured line length to an optical network terminal. Service settings for an optical network terminal are managed by the line identifier.
