A pouch type secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly having an electrode including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator laminated therein; a battery case having a pouch shape to accommodate the electrode assembly; an electrode tab connected to the electrode and protruding from one side of the electrode; a first electrode lead having one end connected to the electrode tab; a second electrode lead having one end connected to the other end of the first electrode lead and the other end protruding to outside the battery case; and a connection part bonding the first electrode lead to the second electrode lead to connect the first and second electrode leads to each other. In at least one of the first and second electrode leads, a notch is on a bonding surface on which the first and second electrode leads are bonded together through the connection part.

Pouch type secondary battery

A pouch type secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly having an electrode including a positive electrode and a negative electrode and a separator laminated therein; a battery case having a pouch shape to accommodate the electrode assembly; an electrode tab connected to the electrode and protruding from one side of the electrode; a first electrode lead having one end connected to the electrode tab; a second electrode lead having one end connected to the other end of the first electrode lead and the other end protruding to outside the battery case; and a connection part bonding the first electrode lead to the second electrode lead to connect the first and second electrode leads to each other, wherein a first inclined surface is provided on at least one of the other end of the first electrode lead and the one end of the second electrode lead.

A battery pack comprises first and second battery cells stacked in a vertical direction and a safety device that connects a first electrode lead provided in the first battery cell to a second electrode lead provided in the second battery cell to allow current to flow therebetween or separates the first electrode lead and the second electrode lead from each other to break the current when the first and/or second battery cells swell due to overcharging and/or overcurrent. In particular, the safety device comprises a connection member that electrically connects the first and second electrode leads to each other and a movable member that linearly moves the connection member when the first and second battery cells swell and separates the first electrode lead and the second electrode lead from each other, thereby breaking the current.

Disclosed is a manganese-based lithium secondary battery comprising a cathode containing manganese-based lithium metal oxide, an anode, and an electrolyte, wherein the anode comprises an anode active material in which a Mn scavenger capable of reducing manganese ions on a surface by conducting or semiconducting properties is coated on part or all of anode active material particles. Through the use of the Mn scavenger, manganese ion dissolved from the manganese-based cathode active material into the electrolyte is preferentially deposited on the Mn scavenger coated on the surface of the anode active material particles, such that the dissolved manganese ion is inhibited from being deposited directly on the surface of the anode active material, and a decomposition of the electrolyte with the deposited manganese component is inhibited. Accordingly, the use of the Mn scavenger can provide a manganese-based lithium secondary battery having excellent storage performance.

The present invention relates to a battery temperature adjusting system including: a battery unit having a heating pad; a leading wire connected to the battery unit; and a current induction unit surrounding the leading wire, wherein the current induction unit is electrically connected to the heating pad. The battery temperature adjusting system according to the present invention generates the induced current by applying the current induction unit surrounding the leading wire connected to the battery unit, and increases the temperature of the battery unit by supplying the induced current to the heating pad, thereby obtaining a desired battery output in a low-temperature region even without the use of an external power source.

A lithium ion secondary battery including a compound containing at least one thiol group (&#x2014;SH) in a molecule in a unit cell of the battery is provided. By including the compound containing thiol group (&#x2014;SH) having good reactivity with copper or copper ions, the formation of dendrite through the reduction of copper ions present in the inner portion of the battery or produced during operating the battery at the surface of an anode may be prevented. The internal short between two electrodes due to the dendrite may be also prevented.
