The portable electronic device includes a communication interface, a memory configured to store multimedia data obtained through at least one camera operatively connected with the memory, and a processor. The processor is configured to transmit at least part of the multimedia data to an external electronic device through a network using a first transmit power function of the portable electronic device, through the communication interface, to determine context information associated with at least one of the portable electronic device and the network, and to change from the first transmit power function to a second transmit power function of the portable electronic device if the context information corresponds to a condition.
