A driving device for a display and a display using same, and a driving method of the display are provided. The display includes a display panel on which an image is displayed, and at least one optical sensor (photodetector) to detect the intensity of ambient (external) light incident upon the display panel. An external-brightness detector outputs an external-brightness signal based on the intensity of external (ambient) light and a backlight brightness controller changes the brightness of the image displayed (or backlight) on the display panel according to the external-brightness signal. The driving device may be implemented on an integrated circuit adapted to be connected to external-light photodetectors of type 1 or of type 2. The driving device may be may be dynamically configured to generate the external-brightness signal by sensing a voltage level of the light detecting node in a first mode of operation and may be reconfigured to generate the external-brightness signal by sensing a current level of the light detecting node in a second mode.

Driving device for display and display using the same and driving method of the display

A light source apparatus includes a light source module, a luminance determiner, an illuminance sensor and a light source driver. The light source module provides a display panel with light. The luminance determiner obtains luminance data of first image data including at least white image data that is converted from image data of a red color, a green color and a blue color. The illuminance sensor obtains sensing data based upon an external illuminance. The light source driver drives the light source module based upon the luminance data and the sensing data.

A display device includes a first display panel, a first gate driver, a second display panel and a second gate driver. The first display panel includes a first display region, in which first gate lines are formed, and a first peripheral region surrounding the first display region. The first gate driver is formed at the first peripheral region and outputs a first gate signal to the first gate lines in response to a first clock signal and a second clock signal. The second display panel is electrically connected with the first display panel. The second display panel includes a second display region, in which second gate lines are formed, and a second peripheral region surrounding the second display region. The second gate driver is formed at the second peripheral region and outputs a second gate signal to the second gate lines in response to the first clock signal and second clock signal.

Display device and method of driving the same

A robot cleaner includes a drive unit for driving a plurality of wheels, a camera disposed in a body for photographing an upper image extending perpendicular to a running direction, a controller for recognizing a position by using position information obtained from a recognition mark formed on a ceiling of a working area that is photographed by the camera, and controlling the drive unit by using the recognized position information to correspond to a target cleaning operation. Accordingly, since the recognition mark for the recognition of a current position of the robot cleaner is formed on a ceiling that has a few changes, the position recognition is performed with more accuracy and the traveling of the robot cleaner to the target work area and a cleaning operation is performed efficiently.
