A recording apparatus includes: a recording device which includes recording elements by performing deposition of ink droplets including main droplets forming main dots on a recording medium and satellite droplets accompanying the main droplets and forming subsidiary dots; a dot pattern storage device which beforehand stores a plurality of dot patterns; and a dot pattern selector device which selects the dot patterns from the dot pattern storage device, wherein when one pixel satisfies i+j&#x2266;k, where i is a main dots total number to be recorded for the pixel, j is a subsidiary dots total number to be recorded for the pixel and k is a number of the main dots to be recorded for the pixel by the recording elements of one type, then the dot pattern selector device selects certain dot patterns for the pixel.

An inkjet recording apparatus includes: a treatment liquid deposition device which deposits on a recording medium a treatment liquid that insolubilizes or aggregates an ink; a recording head having nozzles which eject the ink; a non-uniformity correction amount storage device storing non-uniformity correction amount data which are prepared with respect to each of the plurality of nozzles and determined according to ejection characteristics of each of the plurality of nozzles; a data acquisition device which acquires density data of an image; a non-uniformity correction amount revision device which revises the non-uniformity correction amount data according to the density data related to another nozzle which ejects the ink that overlaps on the recording medium with the ink ejected by each of the plurality of nozzles, in such a manner that the non-uniformity correction amount data are determined; a non-uniformity correction device which corrects the density data according to the non-uniformity correction amount data; and an image forming device which controls the recording head according to the density data in such a manner that the image is formed on the recording medium.

Inkjet recording apparatus and inkjet recording method

The network printing apparatus is adapted to connection with an external information apparatus through a network. The network printing apparatus includes: a print data acquisition device which acquires print data outputted by the external information apparatus through the network; and a print data storage device which stores the print data acquired by the print data acquisition device. The external information apparatus includes a digital broadcast receiving apparatus which receives data transmitted through digital broadcasting. The network printing apparatus prints the print data stored in the print data storage device.

Objects of the present invention are to facilitate filling out by hand an electronic paper and to realize digitization of contents with which the electronic paper is filled out by hand with a simple structure. A read image is obtained by optically reading a reading-object of the electronic paper. Based on the document information written on the electronic paper and writing-conditions during document writing, which are represented by the document information, a display image of the document in accordance with the read image information is formed. A written image is separated and extracted by converting a density only of pixels among the respective pixels of the read image, whose densities vary in accordance with the document writing and which correspond to a portion, to which ink of a pen for the handwriting is not adhered.

An ink cartridge is partitioned into a negative pressure generator chamber containing a negative pressure generator and a storage chamber containing an ink bag. The ink bag stores ink and supplies the ink to the negative pressure generator chamber through an ink port. The negative pressure generator absorbs and holds the ink by its capillary force, to keep pressure inside nozzles of a recording head negative to atmospheric pressure. Through a first air introduction hole, the air is introduced into the negative pressure generator chamber as the ink in the negative pressure generator chamber decreases. Through a second air introduction hole, the air is introduced into the storage chamber as the ink in the ink bag decreases. So variations in pressure inside the nozzles are suppressed, which makes ink discharge from the nozzles stable.

An ink cartridge, which is removably set in a printer, has an ink chamber storing ink, an absorbent chamber containing a sponge that absorbs the ink from the ink chamber and holds it, and a fuel chamber storing a liquid fuel to be supplied to a fuel cell of the printer. The fuel chamber is located outside and adjacent to the ink chamber, so that the ink stored in the ink chamber is kept in a constant temperature range. Data on residual amounts of the ink and the fuel in the ink cartridge are detected by a residual ink detector and a residual fuel detector of the printer, and are written in a memory card that is removably attached to the ink cartridge.

The liquid droplet ejection apparatus includes a droplet ejection control device controlling droplet ejection whereby droplets of liquid are ejected from ejection heads ('heads') towards an ejection receiving medium together with relative movement caused by a conveying device, and a row of dots is formed by droplets of the liquid landing on the ejection receiving medium wherein at least some of the dots overlap in a main scanning direction substantially perpendicular to the relative movement direction. Recording medium conveyance amount measurement method and inkjet recording apparatus

An object of the invention is to obtain a high-quality image by reading an image of an electronic paper with high accuracy. When optically copying the electronic paper, a controller reads out display characteristics such as a reading resolution and a reading light quantity from a display characteristic memory of the electronic paper. The controller performs optical copying processing after setting optimal conditions on the basis of the display characteristics which have been read out from the display characteristic memory.

A holding stand is constituted by a carrying case for holding sheets of electronic paper and a base for uprightly supporting the carrying case that is substantially vertical. From the holding stand, two page fields, each expressing the number of pages of sheets of electronic paper to be displayed and position page field expressing a current page position of electronic paper and incremented on each of the sheets, are added to image data, and the image data is output to the sheets of electronic paper. In each sheets, when the two page fields coincide with each other in comparison between the two page fields, an image based on the image data is displayed in a display region. When the two page fields are different from each other, the position page field is incremented by one, and the position page field is transmitted to the next electronic paper.

Electronic paper reading system

To fill the ink cartridge with the ink, a first air introduction hole of a negative pressure generator chamber is sealed up, and a pressure pump is connected to a second air introduction hole of a storage chamber, to raise pressure inside the storage chamber so as to exhaust air out of an ink bag. While keeping the storage chamber under the high pressure, the second air introduction hole is sealed up, the first air introduction hole is opened, and an ink filling pump is activated to inject the ink through an ink outlet into the negative pressure generator chamber. When a predetermined amount of ink is injected, the second air introduction hole is opened, and the ink filling pump is reactivated to fill up the ink bag as well as the negative pressure generator chamber with the ink.

The image processing method comprises the steps of: obtaining a distance between an ejection surface of a liquid ejection head in which a plurality of liquid droplet ejection ports are formed, and a recording surface onto which liquid droplets ejected from the liquid droplet ejection ports are deposited; identifying an amount of depositing position displacement of the liquid droplet ejected from each of the liquid droplet ejection ports on the recording surface, according to the distance; and generating droplet ejection arrangement data by correcting image data according to the identified amount of depositing position displacement and performing a halftoning process of the corrected image data.
