An annular water removal system (AWRS) for an air cycle environmental control system (ECS) includes a line replaceable unit (LRU) configured to output air flow, and a water collector coupled to the LRU. The water collector includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion includes a coalescing unit having a collector inlet to receive the air flow and configured to coalesce moisture from the air flow output from the LRU. The lower portion includes a collection unit in fluid communication with the coalescing unit. The collection unit is configured to collect the moisture coalesced by the coalescing unit.

A heat exchanger includes a header and an annular core fluidly connected to the header. The annular core includes an inner diameter, an outer diameter, first flow channels arranged in a first set of layers, and second flow channels arranged in a second set of layers and interleaved with the first flow channels. Each of the first flow channels includes a first inlet, a first outlet, and a first axial region extending between the first inlet and the first outlet. Each of the second flow channels includes a second inlet, a second outlet, and a second axial region extending between the second inlet and the second outlet.

Annular heat exchanger

A compressor outlet housing with a housing body has a volute and a radially inwardly extending wall extending from a radially inner surface of the volute. The radially inwardly extending wall extends inwardly to a ledge. A radially inwardly extending web extends to a bearing support. A fillet which will face an impeller when the compressor outlet housing is mounted in a compressor. The fillet connects the ledge to the web. An erosion resistant coating is formed on the fillet. In addition, a compressor incorporating the compressor housing is disclosed as is a method of repairing a compressor outlet housing.

A scroll compressor is provided and includes a motor housing having a support surface, a fixed scroll fixedly disposable on the motor housing, an orbiting scroll which is operably disposable for fluid-compressive orbital movement relative to the fixed scroll and a removable hydropad removably disposable on the support surface between the orbiting scroll and the support surface.

A fan and compressor housing for an air cycle machine includes a fan inlet disposed around a center axis of the housing and having a fan inlet mounting flange, a compressor outlet having a compressor outlet mounting flange, and a compressor inlet having a compressor inlet mounting flange. The fan inlet mounting flange has a pinhole disposed thereon configured to receive a pin from a fan inlet diffuser housing and a fan inlet counterbore configured to receive a mating component from the fan inlet diffuser housing. The compressor outlet mounting flange has a compressor outlet counterbore configured to receive a first mating component from a condenser/reheater. The compressor inlet mounting flange has a compressor inlet counterbore configured to receive a second mating component from the condenser/reheater.

A fan rotor blade extending radially from a hub is described. The fan rotor blade may include first surface and a second surface, where the first surface and second surfaces are respectively defined by a set of X-coordinates, Y-coordinates and Z-coordinates. The X, Y and Z coordinates can be set out in any of Tables T-1, T-2, E-1, and E-2. The X, Y, and Z-coordinates can also be scaled by a predetermined factor, with the X-coordinates are oriented in a tangential direction, the Z-coordinates are oriented in an axial direction, and the Y-coordinates are oriented in a radial direction.

A fan housing for an air cycle machine includes a fan exit flow passage and a ring disposed around a center axis of the fan housing and disposed around the fan exit flow passage. The ring includes a first end disposed axially opposite a second end and a guide surface facing radially inward relative the center axis and formed between the first end and the second end. The ring also includes a shelf disposed radially inward from the guide surface. The shelf includes a stop surface extending radially and disposed axially between the second end and the guide surface. The shelf also includes a shelf surface facing radially outward relative the center axis and extending axially between the first end and the stop surface.

Fan and compressor housing

A fan shroud for an air cycle machine includes a tubular body extending axially between a first end and a second end of the shroud along a center axis of the fan shroud. A flange extends radially outward from the tubular body of the shroud at the first end of the shroud. At least one mounting hole extends through the flange. A sight hole extends through the flange and is positioned radially inward from the at least one mounting hole relative the center axis.

A vane for a variable diffuser includes a body with an inlet end and an outlet end, a leading surface extending from the inlet end to the outlet end, a trailing surface opposite the leading surface and extending from the inlet end to the outlet end, a first surface extending from the inlet end to the outlet end, and a second surface opposite the first surface and extending from the inlet end to the outlet end. The vane further includes a first cavity on the first surface of the vane adjacent the inlet end, a second cavity on the first surface of the vane adjacent the outlet end, a third cavity on the second surface of the vane adjacent the inlet end, and a fourth cavity on the second surface of the vane adjacent the outlet end.

Variable diffuser vane

An annular backing plate for a diffuser in a centrifugal compressor comprises an inner diameter and an outer diameter disposed radially opposite the inner diameter. The backing plate also includes a first surface extending between the inner diameter and the outer diameter of the backing plate. A step is formed on the first surface proximate the inner diameter, wherein the step shifts a portion of the first surface encompassed by the step axially aft relative a portion of the first surface not encompassed by the step.

A support bracket includes a body, an arm, a first mount, a boss, and a second mount. The arm extends laterally from the body and a first fastener opening passes through the arm. The first mount extends from a first side of the body, and a first fillet is disposed at the interface of the first mount and the body. A boss extends from a second side of the body and a second fastener opening passes through the boss. A second fillet is disposed at the interface of the boss and the body. The second mount extends into the body opposite the boss. A third fillet is disposed at the interface of the second mount and the first side and a fourth fillet is disposed at the interface of the second mount and the second side.

Support bracket

A support bracket has a support portion, a first mounting portion, and a second mounting portion. The first mounting portion extends from a first end of the support portion. The second mounting portion extends from a second end of the support portion. The second mounting portion defines a coupling hole that is disposed proximate an end surface of the second mounting portion. A first support rib engages a first surface of the support portion and a third surface of the first mounting portion.

Cabin air compressor bracket

An aspect is a thrust plate assembly for an air cycle machine. The thrust plate assembly includes an annular body defined by an outer rim and a main bore. The annular body includes a nozzle side and a thrust bearing side. The nozzle side includes a nozzle region proximate the outer rim and a turbine rotor region proximate the main bore, where the outer rim has an outer diameter. The thrust plate assembly also includes a main bore seal installed in the main bore. The main bore seal has an inner diameter, where a ratio of the outer diameter of the outer rim to the inner diameter of the main bore seal is between 3.94 and 3.96.

A compressor housing for an air cycle machine includes an inlet and an outlet. The compressor housing additionally includes a plurality of ribs that extend generally perpendicularly from a surface of the compressor housing. Formed within an internal region of the compressor housing is a bearing support structure. The bearing support structure receives and limits the axial movement of a bearing, seal and at least one O-ring.
