A method for monitoring streaming video content is provided. Content Delivery Network (CDN) feed sent over one or more CDNs is monitored and analyzed using a first soft probe deployed in the one or more CDNs to generate a first video session record. Video traffic sent over a packet core network (PCN) is monitored and analyzed using a second soft probe deployed in the PCN to generate a second video session record. A third session record is generated by correlating the first session record to the second session record. The third session record corresponds to an end-to-end video streaming session. One or more performance characteristics corresponding to the end-to-end video streaming session are generated based at least in part on the third session record.

Streaming video monitoring using CDN data feeds

A distributed network monitoring device monitors via a lightweight session tracking module of a network monitoring device, control plane data for connectivity sessions of User Equipment (UE) in a communication network. The lightweight session tracking module selectively identifies at least one bearer for a corresponding connectivity session according to one or more control plane attributes and associates each selectively identified bearer for the corresponding connectivity session with a bearer routing rule for user plane data. A packet routing module receives user plane data for connectivity sessions of UE and transmits the user plane data of the connectivity sessions according to the bearer routing rule of the lightweight session tracking module to a flow processing module for subsequent data flow analysis.

System and method for automatic detection of UTRAN topology

A system and method for subscriber tracking and creating subscriber records in a GPRS network is disclosed. First subscriber records are created using information from first data packets captured from a first GPRS network interface. The first subscriber record is compared with information in second data packets captured from a second GPRS network interface. If the second data packets are associated with the first subscriber record, then information from the second data packets is added to the first subscriber record. If the second data packets are not associated with the first subscriber record, then a second subscriber record is created using information in the second data packets.
