Method for creating and using affective information in a digital imaging system

An events interface is described, and the events interface includes event sequences that indicate software application events that occur in relation to each other along an adjustable continuum. Each of the event sequences corresponds to a software application that is executable on one or more computer devices, such as a hosted application by the computer devices, where modules of the software are each executable on the computer devices. The events interface also includes past event indicators along the event sequences that each present as a past software application event that occurred on at least one of the computer devices.

A computer system events interface is described. In embodiment(s), the computer system events interface includes event indicators that each indicate a past computer event. An event indicator is selectable to initiate an information display pertaining to a corresponding past computer event. In a digital image administration method and system, a database of image records is maintained. Data sets are provided. The data sets are each associated with a respective image record. A plurality of the data sets have missing data in different combinations of the categories. A value index of each of the image records is generated from the respective data set. The image records are managed responsive to respective value indexes.

Aspects of the subject matter described herein relate to using wireless identification tags (e.g., RFID tags) with backup media. In aspects, a wireless identification tag may be attached to, incorporated into, or otherwise associated with backup media, a container holding the backup media, or a location (e.g., a shelf) associated with the backup media. In response to a signal, this wireless identification tag may provide an identifier that uniquely identifies the wireless identification tag. This identifier may be associated with a data set that is stored or to be stored on the backup media. The wireless identification tag may be used to locate the backup media and to identify what is on particular backup media. In some embodiments, the wireless identification tag may store backup information thereon that may be subsequently retrieved and used identify what is on its associated backup media.

A method is provided for customizing scene content, according to a user or a cluster of users, for a given stereoscopic display, including obtaining customization information about the user; obtaining a scene disparity map for a pair of given stereo images and/or a three-dimensional (3D) computer graphic model; and determining an aim disparity range for the user. The method of the present invention also generates a customized disparity map and/or rendering conditions for a three-dimensional (3D) computer graphic model correlating with the user's fusing capability of the given stereoscopic display; and renders or re-renders the stereo images for subsequent display.

A color display device, comprising: an array of subpixels of at least four different colors, including at least two relatively higher luminous color subpixels and at least two relatively lower luminous color subpixels, wherein the subpixels are arranged into groups forming at least two distinct types of pixels, each pixel type including the two relatively higher luminous color subpixels and at least one of the two relatively lower luminous color subpixels, and wherein the pixel types are arranged in a pattern such that the relative locations of the two relatively higher luminous color subpixels in each pixel is repeated in adjacent pixels, and the relative location of at least one of the two relatively lower luminance color subpixels is not repeated in at least one adjacent pixel. Various embodiments of the invention enable color display devices with improved image display quality, with both the appearance of jagged lines and the appearance of banding reduced simultaneously.

A method for comparing image portions of at least two images, comprising the steps of: displaying a first digital image on a display; determining gaze data of a user viewing the first digital image displayed on the display; determining the portion of the first digital image being viewed by the user corresponding to the determined gaze data to identify a first gaze region; accessing a second digital image; determining, in the second digital image, a second region corresponding to the first gaze region; and displaying the first and second gaze regions on the display.

A method of modifying a portion of a digital image. In one arrangement, a digital image is displayed on a display, and the gaze data of a user viewing the image on the display is determined. The portion of the image being viewed by the user corresponding to the determined gaze data to identify a gaze region is then determined. The identified gaze region is modified to generate a modified gaze region, and the resulting modified gaze region is displayed on the display.
