The invention relates to a blade for wind-power generators. The inventive blade is divided transversely into two or more independent sections, each section comprising aerodynamic skins or walls () and an inner longitudinal reinforcing structure (). In addition, the ends of the aforementioned sections are equipped with connection means comprising metal inserts () which are housed and fixed axially inside the walls of the inner longitudinal resistant structure.

The invention relates to a method of producing large parts based on composite materials, such as the roots of blades for wind generators. The inventive method comprises the following steps consisting in: helically winding a band of fibre- and resin-based composite material around a mould; applying a removable protective sheet to the surface of the body; applying a heat-shrinkable strip to the sheet; compacting the laminate thus formed under a vacuum; curing the resin; aligning the cured body, machining the transverse surface to be applied to the blade and forming axial housings in said surface; and positioning and affixing inserts in the axial housings in order to secure the blade.

Method of producing large hollow parts based on composite materials

The invention relates to a lightning arrester system for wind generator blade, which replaces the standard main copper cable and which employs two strips of copper that extend along the entire length of the beam such as to be in direct contact with the carbon fibre. In this way, the carbon fibre laminate and the copper strip are always at the same potential, thereby preventing any possible arc-over between the two elements. The carbon fibre laminate is barely affected by the passage of current owing both to the electrical characteristics of the two components and to the selected configuration which conveys most of the current through the copper strips. In addition, with said novel system it is possible to position intermediate receivers on the actual laminates and in direct contact with the copper strip.

Lightning arrester system for a wind generator blade

A wind turbine blade transversely subdivided into two or more separate modules (-) consisting of outer aerodynamic walls or hulls () and a longitudinal inner reinforcing structure (). The modules include coupling means at the ends of the longitudinal reinforcing structure (), which means consist of lugs (--) projecting into respective portions with alignable openings () for receiving coupling elements.

Wind turbine blade

Lightning protection system of wind turbine blades formed by various connections arranged on carbon fibre laminates () of the blade (), equipotentialising the surface of the airfoils () of the beam () via derivations from a main cable () using the respective auxiliary cables (). The auxiliary cables are connected to metal plates () which make the direct connection with the carbon fibre laminates () and are positioned during the blade () laminating and curing process, or they are connected to metal pins, preferably cone shaped, which pass through the hybrid laminate. Around the connections a nanocomposite based conductive resin () is arranged. In the case of a hybrid laminate with layers of carbon fibre and layers of fibre glass, the equipotential state of the different layers is achieved using windows, discontinuities or open spaces in the fibreglass layers.
