Methods and apparatuses are provided for transmitting and receiving multimedia contents that include at least two components (C, C). The reception method entails the reception of a first component (C) from a first transmission medium (DVB) and the reception of a second component (C) from a second transmission medium (IP), as well as the steps of: detecting (A) a first 'watermark' sequence from the first component (C), detecting (A) a second 'watermark' sequence from the second component (C), synchronizing (A) the first and second components (C, C) on the basis of the first and second &#x201c;watermark&#x201d; sequences, and combining (A) the synchronized first and second components (C, C) to form the multimedia content (MM); of course, the reception method provides the desired results if both components have been suitably and repeatedly marked prior to transmission.
