A securement and release assembly for an appliance component including: (a) a platform to couple to an appliance cabinet, the platform including a track; (b) a push-push latch attached to the platform including a mating feature receiver; and (c) a locking member slidably coupled to the track including a mating feature engagable with the mating feature receiver of the push-push latch, wherein (i) the locking member slides along the track toward the mating feature receiver to transition from an unlatched state not latched within the mating feature receiver, to a latched state, wherein the mating feature is inserted into the mating feature receiver and latched therein, (ii) the locking member interactable with the appliance component to secure the component to the appliance when the locking member takes the latched state, and (iii) the component can be decoupled from the locking member when the locking member takes the unlatched state.

A knob assembly for a gas cooktop may include a knob configured to control a flow of gas from a burner of a cooktop starting at an off position, a knob mechanism arranged between the knob and the cooktop, the knob mechanism including a first part arranged below an underside of the knob, and a second part connected to the first part via a spring mechanism, where the first part is fixed to the knob and configured to rotate with the knob and the spring mechanism is configured to bias against the rotation.

Knob mechanism for gas cooktop

An appliance includes a door coupled with a front panel of a cabinet that defines an upper pin slot. A top panel of the cabinet is configured to extend over the door when the door is closed. An upper hinge assembly includes an upper hinge pin configured to be rotatably received by the upper pin slot of the door. A fixed bracket has a first portion coupled with the front panel of the cabinet and a second portion that extends perpendicular to the first portion. The second portion defines an opening configured to receive the upper hinge pin. A rotating bracket is coupled with the upper hinge pin and is movable between first and second positions. The rotating bracket is configured to be fixedly coupled with the second portion of the fixed bracket when the rotating bracket is in the second position.
