A continuous variable transmission belt, comprising an annular continuous band comprising a body reinforced by a longitudinal armature and a plurality of friction plugs connected by coupling of shape with at least one of either an outer spine of the continuous band or an inner surface opposite to the outer spine with respect to the armature, the friction plugs comprising respectively a friction member adapted to cooperate with a pulley of the transmission and a connection member cooperating with the friction member to rigidly connect the friction plug to the continuous band. Each of the connecting members is made of a material having a higher thermal conductivity than that of the friction members and presents an abutting surface against either of the outer spine or the inner surface.

Continuous variable transmission belt

A belt tensioner for a belt drive is designed to connect an engine shaft of an internal-combustion engine to a reversible electric machine which has the function of starting motor and current generator; the belt tensioner comprises a fixed part and a pair of arms, hinged on a common pin carried by the fixed part and provided with respective idle pulleys, and a spring, which forces the two arms towards one another so as to load the pulleys elastically against respective branches of the belt. The two arms of the belt tensioner are provided with respective first arrest elements, which are designed to interact with the fixed portion to define respective positions of arrest of the arms themselves under the action of the spring, and respective second arrest elements, which are designed to interact with the fixed portion to define respective positions of end-of-travel of the arms under the action of the pull of the belt.

A method of controlling a device comprising an adjusting component which is associated in its operation with a means for actuating the movable element of said component, a means for sensing the actual position of the movable element and a control means, characterised in that it comprises, at the beginning of any operating cycle, initialising the adjusting device by determining the 'fully clsoed' and 'open to the maximum' positions of the movable element (&#x2033;), and indexing the control means () and setting its parameters accordingly then, during the consecutive running of the operating cycle, continously or at regular intervals putting the open/closed state of the adjusting component (&#x2033;) under the control of the reference signal (SIGN), by adjusting the control signal (IN) which is applied according to the result of comparing the indicated positions of the movable element (&#x2033;), obtained firstly from the reference signal (SIGN) and secondly from the (OUT) signal delivered by the sensing means ().

Method controlling an adjusting device, and the corresponding device

A pump/valve assembly forming part of a circuit for circulating a liquid fluid has a pump and a proportional-control valve unit () in series with the pump. The valve unit () has a valve (), an electrical actuator () and a position sensor () which are fixed to a movable member (') sealing the valve () for displacement therewith, and control means () controlling the actuator () according to the position of the movable member (&#x2032;) indicated by the sensor () and a reference signal. The valve unit () is subjected to a procedure indexing the position of the movable member (&#x2032;) and setting parameters for the control means () at the beginning of each new operating cycle of the assembly, and the pump () is rotated at a constant speed selected from a limited number of predetermined speeds at least during part of each operating cycle.

A continuously-variable-ratio transmission belt includes a beltlike continuity element having a body made of elastomeric material and in turn having inner teeth and outer teeth and a number of threadlike longitudinal inserts embedded inside the body; and a number of separate friction blocks which are made of plastic material, are co-molded onto the continuity element so as to each incorporate one tooth of the inner teeth and one tooth of the outer teeth, and are each defined by two lateral surfaces converging inwards of the belt and cooperating with respective sides of a groove of a trapezoidal-grooved pulley.
