A control device is provided that is configured to provide control commands to a computing device, and the computing device is configured to wirelessly communicate information with a mobile device. The control device including a communication zone that includes at least one button configured to be pressed once by a user to effect wireless-data transfer between the computing device and the mobile device.

Communication zone on a keyboard

A wireless peripheral interface is used for coupling with a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port for connecting a wireless peripheral with a host computer or controller. Wireless peripheral devices (e.g., keyboard, mouse, trackball, touch pad, joysticks, and game controllers) transmit communication signals, e.g., radio frequency (RF) signals, to the peripheral interface, which are received and processed into formats suitable for transmission to the host computer or controller via USB, either alone or in combination with other standard external bus systems, such as serial and PS/2.

Wireless peripheral interface with universal serial bus port

A dual-purpose bridge for wireless communication allows both a low frequency (e.g., below 1 GHz) wireless communication standard and a high frequency (e.g., above 1 GHz) wireless communication standard to operate for a particular wireless communications device. Resources existing between the bridged standards can be shared to reduce the cost of implementing any one communication standard. The output signal of each communication system is coupled with a processor. The wireless communication standard that was used to transmit the output signal is determined and then the corresponding protocol is employed. Processing is performed in the processor and the resulting data can then be applied to a data port.

Multi-purpose bridge for wireless communications

An antenna system for a radio frequency (&ldquo;RF&rdquo;) wireless keyboard includes a metallic plate as a part of the antenna system. The metallic plate is located within the wireless keyboard. A RF transmitter is coupled to the metallic plate and an antenna wire which form an the antenna loop. The antenna loop may also be directly integrated into the metallic plate by creating a cut-out space in the metallic plate. The antenna system may also include the metallic plate directly coupled with the RF transmitter so that the metallic plate is a whip or dipole antenna. The RF transmitter generates RF signals associated with particular keyswitches of the wireless keyboard. The antenna system transmits the generated RF signals to a RF receiver that resides separately from, and that communicates with, the wireless keyboard.

Antenna system and apparatus for radio-frequency wireless keyboard

A keyboard includes a Universal Serial Bus hub having at least one downstream port each for connecting with a connector coupled to a cable of a downstream system peripheral device. The keyboard includes a cable receiving channel for receiving at least a portion of the cable of the downstream system peripheral device. The cable receiving channel is an open channel disposed in the bottom surface of the keyboard. The cable receiving channel has sufficient length and depth for receiving a substantial portion of the cable. The cable receiving channel includes a plurality of paths of varying lengths selectable for receiving different lengths of the cable into the channel to adjust the cable slack. The cable can be stacked to overlap in portions of the channel to increase the amount of the cable received in the channel and to reduce the cable slack.

Cable management for system peripheral device

This invention concerns a system for the protection of electric circuits (60, 61, 62) which permits an analysis in real time of the evolution of electric currents circulating in such electric circuits, such analysis having as its purpose not only protection but also prevention. Such protection system comprises at least one circuit breaker (64, 66) including a first coil (70, 71) associated with a magnetic circuit and bearing the main current, as well as a second coil (74, 75) likewise associated with the magnetic circuit. Such second coil carries an induced current representative of the main electric current. Such induced current is processed by an electronic circuit (80) which supplies a processed signal representative of at least one characteristic of the main current, said characteristic being used for prevention in the electric circuits.
