A polyurethane adhesive composition, more specifically a two-component polyurethane adhesive, including (a) at least one isocyanate component, and (b) at least one polyol component, wherein the polyol component (b) includes (bi) at least one first polyol compound, (bii) at least one second polyol compound and (biii) at least one chain extender, and a process for making the above adhesive composition.

Disclosed are polyurethane adhesive compositions which include (a) one or more urethane prepolymers having isocyanate moieties; (b) a catalytic amount of one or more catalysts; (c) one or more fillers; (d) one or more silane adhesion promoters; and (e) one or more monofunctional polyalkylene glycols.

Primerless polyurethane adhesive compositions

Two-component polyurethane adhesives include a polyol component and a polyisocyanate component. The polyol component includes a high functionality polyether polyol and precipitated calcium carbonate particles having a particle size of up to 200 nm. The adhesive has an excellent combination of a prolonged open time followed by curing to form a strong adhesive bond.

Latent two-part polyurethane adhesives

Disclosed are latent two-part polyurethane adhesives that rapidly develop adhesive strength when cured by application of infrared radiation containing a polyol component which includes; one or more polyols having a hydroxyl equivalent weight of 400 to 2000 and a nominal hydroxyl functionality of 2 to 4; one or more aliphatic diol chain extenders; and one or more latent room temperature organometallic catalysts; b) a polyisocyanate component containing one or more polyisocyanate compounds; and v) a carboxylic acid-blocked cyclic amidine compound and vi) a phenol-blocked cyclic amidine compound which each may be located in the polyol component or the isocyanate component. Further disclosed are methods of bonding structures together using the latent two-part polyurethane adhesives.

Epoxy resin system

The invention relates to curable epoxy resin systems comprising polyethylene tetraamine and a tin catalyst as hardening agents, and optionally comprising 1,4-diaza[2.2.2]bicyclo octane. The invention also relates to articles made therefrom, including composites such as carbon fiber reinforced composites. The curable epoxy resins have rapid demold times and/or high glass temperature.

Epoxy systems employing triethylaminetetraamine and tin catalysts

The system includes one or more of i) alkali metal salts, ii) carboxylic acid-, carboxylic anhydride- or carboxylic acid ester-substituted phenol compounds, iii) an amino as a catalyst. The system has beneficial curing characteristics that make it useful for producing fiber-reinforced composites in a resin transfer molding process.

Epoxy resin system containing polyethylene tetraamines for resin transfer molding processes

A two-component curable epoxy resin system is disclosed. The resin system includes an epoxy resin component containing at least 80% by weight of a polyglycidyl ether of a polyphenol. The system also includes an hardener mixture containing mainly polyethylene tetraamines. The system include triethylene diamine in specific amounts as a catalyst. The system has beneficial curing characteristics that make it useful for producing fiber-reinforced composites in a resin transfer molding process.
