A three-dimensional printer comprising means for build material, a printer carriage and a curtain. The means for depositing the build material deposits same on a printing zone and/or on one or more build material layers deposited on the printing zone. The printer carriage is to move along a first axis over the printing zone and comprises means for treating the build material. The curtain is attached to a first side of the printer carriage with a first side of the curtain and/or configured to move along with the printer carriage such that the curtain covers at least an area of the print zone, wherein the area varies dependent on the moving of the printer carriage over the print zone.

Three-dimensional printer

A heated media deflector for an inkjet printer. The media deflector is located in a transition area between a horizontal printing plane and a vertical feeding path. The media deflector includes a plastic support portion and a sheet metal portion with a heating resistor attached to a bottom surface of the sheet metal portion. The sheet metal portion provides a guiding surface for guiding a media from a printing zone to the vertical feeding path. The sheet metal portion of the heated media deflector also radiates heat that dries excess water absorbed by the media during printing. The inkjet printer includes a controller for controlling the heating temperature of the heated media deflector. The heating temperature is set based on environmental conditions and print job parameters.

Heated media deflector

An inkjet printing device has a frame, a transversely moveable printhead carriage, carrying a plurality of inkjet printheads, mounted for reciprocating movement on the frame, ink supply reservoirs mounted on the frame and flexible ink supply tubes for delivering ink from each of the ink reservoirs to a corresponding inkjet printhead. The device further includes an ink leakage detection system with an ink collector for collecting an ink leak from the ink supply tubes, and a sensing circuit coupled to the collecting unit, capable of detecting the presence of ink in the ink collector. A method of detecting the ink leak in the inkjet printing device includes the step of: conveying the ink leak from an ink delivery system to the ink collector, both comprised by the inkjet printing device; sensing when the ink is present in the ink collector; providing the information that an ink leakage is present in the device; and stopping the device.

Ink leak detection system in inkjet printing devices

A printhead carriage for an ink jet printer having a plurality of printhead stalls therein and a printhead holddown cover having spring biased printhead holddown plungers on the underside of the cover and equal volume fluid passageways in the cover for conducting fluid from fluid inlets on said cover exposed to atmosphere to printheads in the stalls. An arcuately moveable air pump is engageable with one of a number of arcuately positioned inlets to the passageways in the carriage cover to enable a single pump to selectively apply positive pressure to prime each of the printheads in a desired sequence.
