Herein is described a scratch-off structure comprising the following layers in order: a substrate having a first layer showing information thereon, a second layer comprising a polymeric film and being substantially transparent; a third layer comprising a transparent electrostatic ink; a fourth layer, wherein the fourth layer is coloured. Methods for making scratch-off structures and collections of scratch-off structures are also described.

Scratch-off structures

The present disclosure relates to a process for selectively printing an image onto a substrate. The process comprises electrophotographically printing a first ink composition onto selected areas of a substrate. The process also comprises applying a primer over at least the unprinted areas of the substrate. A second ink composition is printed onto the primer and the first ink composition is removed from the selected areas of the substrate. The first ink composition is a transparent electrophotographic ink composition.

Selective printing

There is provided a process for preparing a laminate, comprising electrostatically printing a transparent electrostatic ink composition onto a base material, wherein the transparent electrostatic ink composition comprises a thermoplastic resin, and a charge adjuvant and/or a charge director; providing a substrate; and contacting the substrate with the transparent electrostatic ink composition while the thermoplastic resin is softened or molten, and then allowing the thermoplastic resin to harden, so that the electrostatic ink composition adheres the base material and the substrate together. Laminate materials are also disclosed.

Laminates

There is provided a laminate, comprising a base material, a transparent electrostatic ink composition selectively disposed on portions of the base material, the transparent electrostatic ink composition comprising a thermoplastic resin, and a charge adjuvant and/or a charge director; a substrate adhered to the base material at the portions of the base material by the transparent electrostatic ink composition. A process for preparing a laminate and a blister pack are also disclosed.

The present disclosure is drawn to compositions and methods involving coated substrates for liquid electrophotographic printing. Generally, a coated substrate for liquid electrophotographic printing can comprise a polyethylene- or polypropylene-based substrate and a coating adhered to the substrate, the coating comprising a water-based aliphatic polyurethane polymer.

Substrate coating for improved toner transfer and adhesion

A method of producing a transfer sheet containing an image for transfer to a final surface by heat and pressure, the method including: providing a transfer sheet; providing an image, for example a liquid toner image; and transferring an image to the transfer sheet, using heat and pressure.

Method of producing transfer sheets and transfer sheets

A substrate suitable for printing a toner image thereon, comprising: a sheet of plastic; an underlayer coating, on the sheet of plastic, comprising a first polymer material preferably comprising a polymer chosen from the group consisting of amine terminated polyamide, a silane coupling agent and amino propyl teriethoxy silane; an overlayer coating, directly on the underlayer, comprising a second polymer material and having an outer surface to which a toner image can be fused and fixed, the second polymer preferably consisting essentially of a polymer chosen from the group consisting of ethylene acrylic acid copolymer, polyvinyl pyridine and styrene butadine copolymer.

Coating system for substrates

A method for preparing a plastic surface for printing with a toner comprising: forming a layer of an aqueous mixture comprising a first material and a second material on the surface, wherein the first material has an affinity for the plastic and the second material has an affinity for the first material and the toner, and drying the layer.
