An LED driver is provided. The LED driver has a constant current power source. In some embodiments, the constant current power source is an electrical input configured for connection to a source of power at a constant current. In some embodiments, the source of power is a constant current regulator. The LED driver also includes a switch electrically connected to the constant current power source. The switch has at least two outputs wherein the switch is configured to selectively connect the constant current power source to each of the at least two outputs. The switch is configured to connect each of the at least two outputs for a pre-determined period of time.

LED driver for providing power to parallel LEDs

Runway end identifier light system having a housing with an illumination window, a substrate having a mounting surface disposed within the housing, and a first light-emitting diode ('LED') disposed on the mounting surface of the substrate. The LED may be configured such that light emitted by the LED is visible through the illumination window of the housing. The LED may have a primary illumination axis which is at an angle greater than 0&#xb0; with respect to a perpendicular axis of the substrate. Systems with multiple mounting surfaces and multiple LEDs having various primary illumination axes are disclosed.

Light-emitting diode runway end identifier light system

Disclosed are elevated lights and methods of maintaining illumination in elevated lights for an airfield. The elevated lights have a substrate having a mounting surface, LEDs, a reflector, and an LED driver circuit. The LEDs are disposed on the mounting surface of the substrate and configured such that a primary illumination axis of each LED is oriented along a longitudinal axis of the elevated light. The reflector is configured such that the light emitted from the LEDs is reflected radially with respect to the longitudinal axis of the elevated light. The driver circuit is configured to provide a current to the LEDs and detect failure of one or more of the LEDs. Illumination is maintained by providing a current to the LEDs, detecting a voltage change across the LEDs, determining, based on the voltage change, LED failure, and altering the provided electrical current in order to maintain illumination.
